Recently, Amazon quietly launched a new version of the backend on its North American site and added a new button called [Next Generation Sales].

This button is not only the entrance to the new version of the backend interface, but can also be accessed through the "Seller Experience Lab". At present, according to the feedback from internal beta sellers, the new version has more centralized functions and more efficient operations.

  • The "Management" section has a wide coverage: The "Management" section in the new version of the background includes many functions closely related to the daily operations of sellers. Sellers can manage their stores more conveniently and handle various matters in one stop.

  • “Create” section heavy operation: The “Create” section is an important area for sellers to perform manual operations. It is crucial for sellers to increase store sales and popularity.

  • There is a secret in “Account Settings”: The “Account Settings” section contains a series of settings for the previous seller’s account.

The latest version of the page integrates major functional sections

After clicking the [Next Generation Sales] button, you will enter the latest version of the "Amazon Sales Experience", which is divided into a total of 7 tabs, namely My Company + Products + Inventory + Orders + Payment + Buyers + Marketing Promotion .


The default display page of the new version background is more concentrated on key information, such as order status, inventory quantity, sales data, order data , etc.

It can be customized according to personal habits. The steps are as follows:


【Products】Section

The display is more intuitive. Previously, the product status was displayed in text form on the inventory management page, but now it has been changed to a horizontal bar chart.

Conversion rate: New data display that supports filtering and display within a certain time range.


Inventory and Orders

  • Inventory performance: real-time monitoring of inventory performance trend changes and key factors

  • Shipments: Follow up on shipment status

  • Excess inventory: Helps you avoid excess inventory in advance

  • Warehouse utilization rate: Helps to reasonably plan warehouse utilization


Added new functions "Manage" and "Create"

【Management】: Includes five major sections: "Products", "Inventory", "Orders", "Payment" and "Marketing Promotion".

[Create]: includes creating products, creating advertising campaigns, uploading products in batches, creating new listings, shipping to FBA/AWD, multi-channel orders, various coupons, marketing activities, etc.

[Account Settings]: A series of settings for seller accounts, with newly added "Version Switch" and "Exit" buttons.

Sellers can customize section functions

It can be understood as a customized "workspace widget".

Each seller can customize the layout of all the backend sections according to their own work habits. Whether it is "Products", "Inventory", "Orders" or "Payment" and other sections, they can be arranged according to their own needs, making the backend present different characteristics for different people and better meet the needs of different sellers.

Select [Customize], then click the small black dot pointed by the arrow to add related functions to the background page.


How to switch to the old version

Click the three dots in the upper right corner and select Seller Platform to switch to the old version.

Currently, this latest version of the seller backend is only open for testing to some sellers in the U.S. Amazon has not yet announced the official promotion time, but due to its consistent update strategy, this change may be widely implemented in the future.


Here are some of the sellers’ complaints about the new version:

1. The navigation bar of the new interface does not have custom functions, and sellers cannot set button combinations.

2. The inventory management in the new interface only displays three or four items. After clicking, the original label web page will be directly covered, and a new page cannot be created directly.

3. The pop-up windows of the new interface cannot utilize multiple tabs, which increases the operational complexity for sellers in multi-user stores.

4. The display logic of the new interface has not changed substantially, and the operation has become complicated and cumbersome, especially when processing orders in batches, it does not feel as convenient as the old version.

In fact, many sellers think that this new version is the "most difficult backend to use in Amazon's history"!!!

Although some sellers are not used to the new interface, considering Amazon's consistent pace of innovation, the full promotion of the new interface is almost inevitable. Therefore, sellers should adapt to this change as soon as possible, flexibly adjust their operating methods, and use new tools to improve daily operational efficiency.

Overall, this change by Amazon reflects the trend of continuous improvement and adjustment of the platform. Although it may bring some inconvenience in the early stage, in the long run, the new backend interface is expected to improve the operating efficiency of sellers and better adapt to changes in market demand.
