The brand association incident happened not long ago, and recently an even more terrifying news has begun to circulate on the Internet. Amazon’s next step in closing stores will start from the payment end . It will require third-party payment agencies to provide the seller’s real registration information and corresponding payment account . If any case of false orders and manipulation of reviews is found, they will also be directly implicated! We have found many channels discussing this possibility. (Pictures from the Internet) We contacted several payment platforms, but none of them confirmed the authenticity of the news. Alice also contacted Amazon insiders, but they did not provide any information related to the news. However, insiders revealed that Amazon does not have any L10-level executives stationed in Shanghai . L10 is Amazon's internal classification, and the external title is global vice president. The vast majority of Amazon executives in Shanghai and Shenzhen companies are L8 and below. Although most payment platforms replied that they were waiting for news, a student in our group consulted about his own payment and received definite news that Amazon did require payment platforms to share information! Now all kinds of news are flying around, and it is difficult to judge the truth from the false. However, we can still infer from the existing confirmed clues whether the payment connection is the big move that Amazon is planning? The basis for collection linkage - PSPP As early as February when Amazon suddenly announced the Payment Service Provider Plan ( PSPP ), we analyzed with you in the article that this plan would not allow third-party payment to come in directly for nothing . It would inevitably require third-party platforms to share information and accept official supervision. At that time, I did not directly point out the problem that Amazon would check for related issues here, but I implicitly told everyone that there was room for maneuver, because Amazon's policy at the time tended to turn a blind eye. After all, product diversity is still inseparable from the seller base, and multi-account operations are in a state of "if you don't commit a crime clearly, I'm too lazy to check." But after Andy took over Amazon, the direction of the entire platform changed significantly. Amazon adopted a bolder and more radical approach , and was ruthless in cutting off the top sellers who were the backbone of the platform. We are now facing a more tyrannical, ruthless and unscrupulous Amazon. So if the information of third-party sellers can be found from the payment, then from the motivation point of view, Amazon is very likely to start from the payment , at least much higher than when the PSPP was announced! So is it possible that PSPP will become Amazon’s next entry point for checking stores? Unfortunately, the latest version of the Amazon PSPP policy page clearly states that " the seller's payment service provider account information and Amazon sales account information will be shared with payment service providers participating in the program." As we predicted, the PSPP policy does require data interoperability between third-party payment and Amazon. As for whether Amazon will use this data to associate sellers, the same question remains. “Amazon knows everything you do. No matter what happens, it’s just that the time has not come yet.” Timing and consequences of collection association If Amazon is determined to check the payment, the consequences will be terrible, and it may be the most widespread ban in Amazon's history. . . Because unlike brand authorization, most small and medium-sized sellers rarely use it, but third-party payment collection is used by everyone. Moreover, brand authorization is at least an officially recognized operation, but it is only because of suspected fake orders that it is implicated. If you want to check the payment, you can find a lot of third-party payment accounts registered by the same company , generating different payment card numbers for different stores . This is a multi-account operation that is expressly prohibited. If it is found out, the scope of impact will not be just the brand implicated! It will definitely be a big ban that will overturn the entire cross-border circle! As for the timing, the near future will be a very dangerous period, and Amazon is likely to take action. One reason is that Amazon has recently frequently launched heavy-handed reviews, and continuous attacks are more in line with Amazon's current style. Another reason is that July 15 is the final deadline of the PSPP plan . After this date, Amazon will refuse to withdraw money from payment service providers outside the PSPP plan . All sellers must use the payment platform within the PSPP plan after this day. The two time points overlap. If Amazon intends to establish a payment connection, it is likely to do so in the near future. There is no good way to deal with this at present. If the payment platform wants to protect the privacy of sellers and does not share information with Amazon, it will be kicked out of the PSPP plan and will not be able to receive payments from stores. Amazon sellers can only use the platform within the PSPP to receive payments, so they are under Amazon's control anyway . In short, if you don't check the payment association, it will be a complete mess. And just like brand authorization, Amazon probably already has the relevant information in hand, and it's too late to change it now. I can only pray that Amazon will not be so cruel, and the newly prepared small account must be kept pure from beginning to end. Including store opening information, operating environment, operating habits, text format, authorized brands and payment methods, you must fully consider the ways Amazon may use to associate. Combined with the global front-end bug that occurred this morning, it suggests that Amazon is carrying out a large-scale policy update or joint action. Amazon may take action at any time in the near future, and the bug is just a precursor to the update. |
