Recently, an Amazon seller revealed that he found that the money he received was obviously wrong during checkout. Upon checking, he was surprised to find that the store had a large number of free orders that only refunded but did not return the goods! This type of direct refund order will not receive any returns, which is equivalent to the customer choosing a reason and directly keeping the product without paying, and the seller has been cheated out of the product. In addition, there are still a lot of free orders. Many sellers in our group have reported this situation. Amazon is really a scam! In fact, we have already told you about this situation a long time ago. In March, Amazon announced an update to its return policy, adding a prepaid return policy for self-delivery, as well as a non-return refund and free exchange policy . The non-return and refund policy is actually quite demanding, requiring buyers to provide proof that the product was damaged, incomplete, or inconsistent with the content on the product page when they received it. Only after review will Amazon agree to a non-return and refund policy. As you can see at the beginning, there are more than just a few reasons to apply for a direct refund without returning the product. The most obvious ones are two reasons of "accidentally ordering the wrong product" . Why can such a refund reason for buying the wrong product also be applied for a direct refund? ? I used the company's own buyer account to study it. After selecting the reason for the refund, you also need to select the return method, and consumers can still choose "cannot return" in this column. So no matter what reason you apply for a return, you can apply for a non-refundable return. In the past, such an application would definitely not be approved, and the returns of FBA orders are handled by Amazon's dedicated after-sales team. Such things rarely happened in the past, and even if they did, they were only isolated cases. What’s strange is that the policy actually took effect in mid-April, so why did it break out in early July?
New return policy meets member day order cancellation wave If you think of what's going on at the end of June, it's not hard to imagine that Amazon's annual major promotion festival, Prime Day, is scheduled for the end of June. As veteran sellers know, every year after Prime Day, there will be a large wave of returns, and many consumers who made impulse purchases during the major promotion festivals will choose to return the goods. Amazon has previously extended the return period after the promotion in order to attract more consumers to make impulse purchases on promotional days. During last year’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the period was extended to a month, and promotional orders could be returned and refunded within a month. At the time, many sellers criticized Amazon for this change, saying that they had no bottom line in order to please consumers. During this year's Prime Day, Amazon also extended its return policy, and it went beyond simply extending the period. We can further speculate that a longer return period no longer stimulates shopping, and in order to further stimulate impulse purchases, Amazon "relaxed the standards" for the entire return approval process, or there was an approval loophole , which allowed people to avoid returns and refunds even if they bought the wrong product! Of course, if it is just a loophole in Amazon's audit, it is not enough to cause such a surge in non-refund returns. After all, most consumers will still use the normal refund and return process. So what is the problem? ? I did some research and was surprised to find that there is a group of people overseas who are targeting us e-commerce sellers and taking advantage of this loophole in Amazon's approval process to conduct malicious refunds. The team behind non-return and refund I learned from foreign media that recently many American sellers have reported to the media that they have encountered a large number of malicious refunds. After investigation, it was found that there are actually a group of people who specifically take advantage of Amazon's loopholes to maliciously refund and not return the goods after shopping! It is equivalent to taking the goods for nothing! According to reports, this group of people would call Amazon FBA customer service after placing an order and receiving the package, saying that they had not received the goods. They also took advantage of the platform's protection of consumers and the Amazon refund approval loopholes they tried to find to obtain approval for non-refund returns. This operation has even spawned a professional refund team . Ordinary consumers can also ask them to contact Amazon customer service after placing an order to obtain a full refund and keep the product . The team will charge a certain commission on the product amount as compensation. Now this industry has developed to a very scary level. They will even hire a customer service representative from Amazon’s internal refund team, and designate this “insider” to handle the refund for them . It is simply lawless! The loopholes brought by Amazon's revised refund policy, coupled with malicious exploitation and the wave of returns at the end of June, have caused a large number of sellers to issue orders without returns and refunds since July. This is a very serious issue. Everyone must check whether they have such orders and open a case to deal with them immediately! If they are not discovered and dealt with in time, as long as this group of criminals get a taste of the sweetness in your store and are not dealt with, they will come to your store for free many times until you find out. It's very disgusting! |
