CPSC urgently recalls more than 100,000 pet care products! There is a risk of infection

It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of dog conditioner sold by FURminator because it contains bacteria and poses a risk of infection.

It is understood that the product being recalled is FURminator deShedding Ultra Premium Dog Conditioner (1 gallon). The product is packed in a transparent 128-ounce container with a black label labeled "FURminator deShedding Ultra Premium Conditioner" (Gallon) and UPC number 854460001073. The product batch number is printed on the bottom of the container. The affected batch number without a pump is 211102, and the affected batch number with a pump is 220402-240152.

Between January 2022 and April 2024, approximately 102,000 units of the product were sold on Amazon, Chewy and Petsmart online stores, as well as in Petsmart stores nationwide in the United States, priced at approximately $63.

According to the CPSC, the product may contain bacteria that can enter the human body through the eyes or broken skin, and people with weakened immune systems will be seriously infected after contact. So far, FURminator has received four reports of mold in the product, and no injuries have been reported.

CPSC said consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products, mark the products with the word "recalled," upload the product's UPC, date and other information, and upload a photo of the product thrown into the trash. After successful registration, FURminator will provide a full refund to the purchaser.
