Previously, eBay Canada's service was only available to domestic consumers. With this expansion, American sellers can also purchase genuine Canadian sneakers.
eBay's Authenticity Guarantee is designed to increase trust between sellers and buyers, as selling an authentic pair of sneakers requires multiple inspection procedures, including size tags, packaging boxes, soles, stitching, logos, heel tags, laces, etc.
After passing a series of inspection procedures, the certified sneakers will be affixed with an NFC tag. Consumers can scan the tag to see the authenticity report and product parameters provided by eBay.
eBay's sneaker authentication service was first launched in the United States last year and has since expanded to Canada, the United Kingdom and Germany, Australia and Japan, with plans to enter more markets.
