Specific Behavior

1. Taking advantage of others' behavioral flaws to threaten others by filing complaints, giving bad reviews, etc., and demanding improper benefits;

2. Malicious use of invalid or inaccurate delivery addresses and/or consignee information, resulting in merchants being unable to deliver goods on time, thereby disrupting the operation of the Tmall Global platform;

3. Using one or more accounts to bid for a large number of products in a short period of time without paying, causing the merchant's products to be removed from the shelves, affecting the merchant's normal business order;

4. Lack of willingness to trade, malicious use of the convenience of the refund process to achieve other profit-making purposes, and abnormally frequent refund initiation after purchasing goods, affecting the normal trading order.

5. Merchants abuse the tools provided by Tmall Global (such as cloud tags) and disrupt the operation of the Tmall Global platform.

Treatment

In the event of abuse of member rights, Tmall Global may take measures such as public warnings, product removal, blocking of abnormal order messages, restriction of complaints, extension of transaction timeouts, blocking of comment content, non-accumulation of ratings, restriction of use of evaluation tools for illegal/abnormal transactions, restriction of use of Aliwangwang, restriction of buyer behavior, restriction of store creation, restriction of product release, closure of orders, supervision of accounts, restriction of member login, and account closure, depending on the severity of the case.

The changes in August 2016 split the original "improper registration" clause into a serious violation; and established an independent rule for "abuse of membership rights" as a general violation.

The changes in February 2017 are aimed at controlling behaviors such as lack of transaction intention, malicious use of the convenience of the refund process to achieve other profit-making purposes, and abnormally frequent refunds after purchasing goods, which affects the normal transaction order.

In September 2017, additional control situations and handling measures were added for sellers abusing tools; generally, Taobao’s restrictive measures on abuse of membership rights will be implemented against the accounts that specifically commit such behavior.

In February 2019, Tmall Global explained the rules and implementation details regarding "abuse of membership rights" in the "Tmall Global Terms of Service".
