It is learned that on April 26, BigCommerce announced the acquisition of its long-term technology partner BundleB2B. The acquisition follows BigCommerce’s recent acquisition of B2B Ninja, further strengthening the e-commerce capabilities provided by the platform for B2B merchants. The global B2B e-commerce market is expected to reach $25.65 trillion by 2028, growing at an annual rate of more than 18%. The acquisition of BundleB2B provides BigCommerce merchants with the tools to create the best shopping experience for B2B buyers. “At BigCommerce, we offer a platform that is easier to use and faster than traditional B2B solutions, and more flexible and powerful than other SaaS platforms,” said Brent Bellm, CEO of BigCommerce. “This acquisition further solidifies our commitment to being the best eCommerce choice for B2B merchants.” Built specifically for BigCommerce’s B2B merchants, BundleB2B combines existing enterprise-focused functionality with advanced, easy-to-configure B2B features to save time, automate manual processes, and shorten sales cycles, including: Account management: Sellers at different levels can enjoy different permissions; Order tools: including shared shopping lists and re-buy features to improve the customer purchase experience; Quote Management: Allows consumers to request quotes directly from merchants’ storefronts; Sales Representative: Enables a merchant's sales team to assist customers during the buying process. The two companies have been working closely to deliver BigCommerce B2B, a suite of advanced B2B capabilities that has experienced significant growth since its launch in June 2021. The B2B edition expands on existing BigCommerce functionality, enabling companies with complex businesses to quickly add new channels and run their business for both B2B and B2C audiences on a single platform. William Roam, a health and beauty brand, said: “BundleB2B is the reason we switched from Shopify to BigCommerce. Without BundleB2B, we would have had to hire a development team to customize a complex website. With BundleB2B, we can manage the site ourselves, which is important to us.” This acquisition means that BigCommerce will more tightly integrate BundleB2B within its platform and continue to invest in B2B. BigCommerce merchants will also continue to receive all the benefits of the B2B version, now more tightly integrated with BundleB2B to form a more comprehensive solution.
