Amazon's big reform! These categories will be hit hard...
Recently, major companies have started to close for holidays, and most of our friends are immersed in the joy of holidays.

But unexpectedly, Amazon made another major reform! Many categories were affected!

The seller is helpless: I must have some fun during the New Year!

Added mandatory size attribute to clothing category

Recently, Amazon issued an announcement announcing that in order to improve the customer shopping experience, it will add mandatory size attributes to the clothing category, and it will take effect on February 22, 2021.

The announcement is as follows:

To improve the overall shopping experience for customers and provide more consistent and accurate sizing data when shopping for apparel products, Amazon is standardizing apparel sizes.

Starting from February 22, 2021 , sellers in the apparel category must fill in the following attributes when creating new listings and updating existing listings:

Sellers must select the size attribute from the standard size list for apparel products such as dresses, sweaters, blazers, sweatshirts, coats, vests, robes, tights, boleros, tunics, tracksuits, pajamas, socks, underwear, and suits .

These attributes will improve the shopping experience for customers when browsing and reviewing your products by displaying standardized and consistent values.

If sellers have not met Amazon's requirements by February 22, their products may be affected. For more details, please visit Amazon Seller Center.

In fact, Amazon has been working hard to standardize the sizes of clothing products, because clothing products are most likely to result in bad reviews, returns, exchanges, etc. due to size issues.

Before Amazon announced this change, the size information of clothing categories has always been freely editable, and sellers can upload various formats and standards to describe the sizes of their products. This has caused a very bad shopping experience for buyers. They may just have seen the size standards of the previous seller and habitually apply the sizes of the next seller, and then buy clothing products that do not match them.

Electronic products need to fill in FCC radio frequency emission compliance attributes

Recently, Amazon announced that if you are a seller of electronic products, including home electronics, by the end of February 2021 , in order to create new listings or update existing listings of radio frequency devices, you will need to fill in the FCC radio frequency emission compliance attributes .

According to the FCC, " Almost all electronic and electrical products (equipment) are capable of emitting radio frequency energy. " This also means that most electronic products need to fill in this attribute before they can be put on the shelves!

Amazon tells sellers that they must do one of the following for attributes:

1. Provide evidence of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) authorization - FCC certification number or contact information of the responsible party as defined by the FCC.

2. Prove that the product is not subject to FCC requirements.

Amazon said examples of products that the FCC regulates as radio frequency devices include, but are not limited to: Wi-Fi devices, Bluetooth devices, radios, broadcast transmitters, signal boosters and devices with cellular technology.

Amazon is criticized in the UK!

Amazon faced new criticism in the UK on February 8 that it pays far less commercial property tax on its physical properties than the UK's physical retail industry. Although Amazon's sales are conducted online, the company also owns a large number of physical properties.

According to researchers, Amazon paid a total of £71.5 million in commercial property taxes in the UK in 2020-2021, which is only 0.37% of its total sales revenue. The researchers pointed out that the proportion of commercial property taxes paid by Amazon is much lower than that of physical retailers.
