Two more express delivery companies have introduced peak season surcharges! Sellers are having a hard time!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, following USPS, FedEx and UPS, German express giant DHL and OnTrac , the largest private logistics company in the United States, have also introduced peak season surcharges.

USPS said that on average, it will charge an additional $3.20 per package, depending on the weight and distance of the package. The rate change will take effect on October 2 and last until January 22, 2023. At the same time, DHL will also impose a peak surcharge on SmartMail return products, SmartMail is DHL's last-mile delivery service partner.

In addition, OnTrac also announced that it will impose a peak season surcharge. OnTrac's peak season charging standards are based on UPS. For each package between October 2, 2022 and January 14, 2023, the company will charge a surcharge of $6.5, and for large packages, it will charge an additional $70.

For packages shipped between October 30 and January 14, 2023, OnTrac will determine additional surcharges based on how much the customer's peak-period express volume increases over the baseline volume. The following are the specific charges:

Like USPS, FedEx and UPS, DHL and OnTrac also said that the temporary rate adjustments will help the companies cover additional operating costs to ensure delivery efficiency during the peak season while remaining strongly competitive during this holiday shopping season.
