More than 300 accounts sued! May be fined 3.63 million + 10 years in prison! These products should be removed from the shelves immediately

Although it is the last season of hot orders at the end of the year, many sellers have frequently “stepped on landmines” and some have even had their stores closed .

Etsy seller had his store closed and was fined 3.63 million?

According to foreign media reports, child sex dolls modeled after 14-year-old girls were sold on a well-known shopping website and shipped to Etsy Australia.

One seller on Etsy confirmed that the dolls in the store were modeled after a 14-year-old Instagram influencer.

It is reported that buyers can send a photo of a real child to the seller, who will use these real photos as templates to make child sex dolls. These dolls are 156 cm tall, which is equivalent to the average height of a 13-year-old girl.

To further verify the information, Australian women's rights group Collective Shout posed as an interested buyer and sent two computer-generated images of children to the Etsy store.

The Etsy seller responded:

"It can be modified so that the doll is very similar to the photo sent by the buyer." Etsy Australia then removed the store from its shelves.

Australian Border Force has seized more than 100 dolls in less than five months to November 18. At least 191 dolls have been seized this year, compared to 145 found in all of 2019.

It is understood that most of the dolls seized come from China, Japan and Singapore . Selling such sex dolls in Australia may result in a fine of up to $555,000 ( about RMB 3.63 million ) and 10 years in prison .

300 accounts sued! This product must be removed from shelves immediately

Recently, some sellers reported that the Italian high-end street clothing brand Stone Island filed a lawsuit against nearly 300 accounts due to trademark issues . It has been represented by the SLADKUS law firm and the case has been frozen.

On November 19, 2020, the Stone Island brand filed a lawsuit in the Northern District Court of Georgia in the name of its company Sportswear Company - SpA. Sellers should note that the case number is 20-cv-4715 and has been frozen since December 10 .

Stone Island was founded in 1982. As a top Italian men's functional clothing brand, Stone Island has been well-known in Europe and Japan for more than 30 years. However, in recent years, the brand has "accidentally" become popular among fashion circles in the United States and China, and its iconic cross compass epaulettes frequently appear in street photos on social media.

In this year's depressed luxury market, Stone Island bucked the trend and its annual sales revenue increased slightly by 1% to 240 million euros. It is reported that Italian luxury brand Moncler will acquire Stone Island for 1.15 billion euros. Moncler said that because Stone Island is very popular among young people, it is a brand with great potential and a large market space.

It is reported that Sportswear Company has registered more than 200 trademarks, and this time the company is mainly suing the trademark of the Stone Island brand. Therefore, sellers should pay attention to not having the words Stone Island and similar trademarks on their products, otherwise they are likely to be sued .

Another product design failure

According to foreign media reports, the Korean non-governmental organization "Volunteer Agency Network of Korea" (VANK) has sent a letter to Amazon, eBay and Walmart on Monday, asking them to stop selling "kamikaze" headbands .

The "Kamikaze" headband, which is priced at $10.99 on Amazon, $4.09 on eBay and $6.99 at Walmart, has a red circle with the Chinese characters for "God" and "Wind" written on either side.

The Kamikaze is a symbol of Japanese militarism and imperialism. During World War II, Japanese military commandos carried out suicide attacks using planes equipped with bombs.

Amazon also sells headbands printed with the Japanese word hakenkreuz , with the Chinese characters for "ban" and "zai" written on them.

VANK believes that these e-commerce platforms have failed to face up to the historical fact that the kamikaze and Japanese hackenkreuz are fascist symbols of Japanese imperialism.

In recent years, although sensitive products involving racism have been banned from sale on platforms such as Amazon and eBay, some sellers still sell them in violation of regulations.

Previously, Amazon issued a statement saying that all sellers must follow the platform's sales guidelines, and those who are unwilling to comply will be punished, including account deletion .

The editor hereby reminds all sellers to pay attention to the text, patterns, shapes and other related details of the goods sold to avoid infringing products, banned products, etc.
