In the past two days, Amazon issued an emergency notice in the background, saying that an unexpected BUG occurred in the Amazon FBA warehouse system numbered ORF2, causing the carrier UPS to be unable to handle a large number of incoming shipments. All shipments sent to the warehouse using the old address will not be able to enter the warehouse! This problem only occurs when the final delivery to the warehouse is handled by UPS. Currently, Amazon has jointly activated a backup address with UPS to receive ORF2's pending warehouse shipments. Subsequent shipments sent to the warehouse need to fill in this new address (only for UPS final delivery shipments). If the new address is not used, the shipments sent by UPS are likely to be returned. ORF2 via UPS Richmond 9603 Coach Road Richmond, VA 23297 However, shipments delivered through other logistics channels still need to use the old address for delivery and warehousing and will not be affected by this BUG. The old address is as follows. Amazon.com Services Inc. 5045 Portsmouth Boulevard Chesapeake, VA 23321 Here again, we remind you that you can only fill in the new address if you are sure that UPS will deliver the goods to the warehouse. As you can see from the address name, the new address is actually a UPS warehouse, so if it is not delivered to the new address through UPS, it will not be accepted. Sellers who do not use UPS to deliver goods to the warehouse must pay attention and fill in the old address. Moreover, most freight forwarding channels choose different logistics companies for delivery at each stage, and UPS is a common combination for final delivery. If sellers create shipments and are assigned to the ORF2 warehouse, please confirm with the freight forwarder which delivery company is used for the final delivery. The ones that have not been shipped are easy to deal with. The sellers who have already used the old address to ship are most affected by this bug. If UPS is used for the final haul, they cannot enter the warehouse for the time being. However, Amazon has not mentioned how to deal with the stranded goods. I guess UPS will transfer them to the new address and they will not be returned directly, but in any case, the warehouse will definitely be delayed. In addition, I also found some sellers’ responses and internal information, which showed that the source of the connection error between Amazon’s FBA system and logistics providers was due to Amazon’s new replenishment process “Send to Amazon”. This new process was officially launched in September this year and replaced the original delivery and replenishment process. It has simplified the operations of sellers in the background a lot, but there are problems with the connection between the "Send to Amazon" process in the background and the logistics companies' warehouse entry. The bug of UPS and ORF2 this time is not a one-time event. Before Amazon completely solves the connection problem of "Send to Amazon", the bug of being unable to enter the warehouse may also occur in other warehouses. |
