What is going on?

According to foreign media reports, the CIA recently announced that it will deploy cloud computing business worth tens of billions of dollars in the future, and distribute the part originally given to Amazon to different technology companies (Amazon's competitors)

Amazon, which had signed a cloud computing agreement with the CIA in 2013, took advantage of this opportunity to successfully dominate the US cloud computing market for several years.

AWS (cloud computing business) has also become one of Amazon's pillar businesses. As of last year, Amazon's AWS business accounted for more than 50% of the entire US market . By 2020, the annual output value of the cloud computing business is expected to reach US$50 billion.

The business that the CIA needs to deploy is called the Commercial Cloud Initiative (C2E), which is the CIA's core business to gradually use cloud services to power the technological needs of the global intelligence community. The entire plan has orders worth tens of billions of dollars!

Although from the perspective of customers who rely on cloud computing, choosing a single cloud service provider would be more efficient and secure.

However, the CIA announced that it had assigned these businesses to different companies, including Amazon's competitors Microsoft, Google, Oracle, etc.

The reason why the CIA did this has a lot to do with the recent change in the attitude of the US political circles towards Amazon. Now Amazon's every move will be monitored and restricted by the US government. This decision can be seen as the US government's answer after weighing the pros and cons.

So what kind of disadvantages would make the CIA abandon a more efficient and secure solution (using only Amazon AWS)?
