On December 12, Amazon released an update to its brand name policy. Listings without brand registration cannot fill in brand names at will! Amazon stated: Customers make wise purchasing decisions based on detailed page information such as brand names, and accurate brand information will help customers find and evaluate products when shopping. Therefore, the brand attributes on the listing should be consistent with the brand name of the product. If the listing does not belong to any brand, the brand attribute should be filled in as "N/A". For example, AmazonBasics products should always display "by AmazonBasics" on the product details page. If a merchant attempts to create a listing that does not comply with this policy, the system will require it to fix the brand attributes before listing. Solution: Register your trademark as early as possible, and file your brand record as soon as possible after registering it. This is not only a basic requirement of the platform, but can also prevent copycat sales to a certain extent. Of course, it should be noted that if you don’t have much start-up capital, there is no need to buy a trademark. After all, buying a trademark is quite expensive. Amazon has released an update to its brand name policy, which will regulate the brands of products sold and impose higher requirements on those merchants who do not have brands or whose product listings are randomly written. Some knockoffs or pirated products will no longer be able to gain brand awareness. This also indicates that Amazon will pay more attention to branding. Starting January 1, 2020, battery manufacturers and distributors must provide a lithium battery test summary in accordance with United Nations standard UN38.3. This new global requirement applies to lithium batteries and products containing lithium batteries. Amazon statement: As an Amazon FBA seller, you are responsible for obtaining this test summary for any ASIN you sell. If you do not provide this summary, you may not be able to sell your products on Amazon. In addition, all units of this ASIN in our fulfillment centers may be disposed of at your expense. Please upload the test summary in the Upload Required Lithium Battery Test Summary section, where more information will be provided. Friendly reminder : Sellers who are already selling related products should check their listings and submit relevant information. Sellers who are preparing to enter such products should also learn about and obtain relevant information from suppliers in advance. Amazon announced in the seller forum that starting from January 1, 2020, the IPI score for storage restrictions will be raised to 400 (previously 350). Sellers who fail to meet the standard will have their storage capacity strictly limited, and if they exceed the capacity, they will be charged an excess capacity fee. Solution: Select products with high quality and carry out refined operations. Don’t blindly distribute products. Once products are put into warehouses and on shelves, they must be sold as soon as possible. If they are really not selling well, they must be cleared out or abandoned in time to avoid being charged excess capacity fees for not selling the goods, which would result in a loss on both ends. Sellers on the Japanese site are in luck. The commission percentage for categories such as clothing, shoes and bags on the Japanese site has been reduced. Promotion period: 2020/3/1~2021/2/28 For clothing products with a selling price of more than 3,000 yen, the sales commission percentage is reduced from 15% to 8% (FBA) For shoes and bags with a selling price higher than 7,500 yen, the sales commission percentage is reduced from 15% to 5% (FBA) Participating in the Amazon Logistics New Products Program : Starting April 1, 2020, sellers participating in the Amazon Logistics New Products Program will be exempted from storage fees, return fees, and removal fees for their first products. In addition, sellers new to Amazon Logistics are eligible for a discount of 11,000 yen on delivery benefits under the Partnered Carrier Program. Free Customer Returns: For Apparel & Accessories and Shoes & Bags, Amazon Logistics will waive customer return processing fees for up to 50 units of the parent ASIN for first-time shipments.
