It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of BISSELL's Steam Shot handheld steam cleaner due to the risk of burns. The recalled products involve multiple models of BISSELL Steam Shot handheld steam cleaners, with model series 39N7 and 2994, printed on the product rating label at the bottom of the device. The words "STEAM SHOT" or "POWER STEAMER" are printed on the side of the product, and the colors include green, pink, blue, orange, white, black, purple and red. Image courtesy of CPSC Between August 2008 and May 2024, about 3.2 million units of the product were sold at Amazon, Target, Walmart and other stores, as well as online, at prices between $35 and $40, with a two-pack costing $70. To date, BISSELL has received 183 reports of hot water or steam leaking from the product, including 157 reports of minor burns. The CPSC says consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products, take and upload photos showing the model number and the cut cords, and contact BISSELL to receive a $60 credit (applicable toward purchases at BISSELL.com) or a $40 refund per unit.
