Walmart bans sales of pet breeding devices! This "pet breeding device" is at risk of being removed from shelves!

It is learned that under pressure from the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), Walmart recently announced a ban on third-party sellers from continuing to sell dog breeding devices.

"This metal device, also known as a 'rape rack,' is used to restrain female dogs, making them unable to resist when being mounted by male dogs," a PETA spokesperson said.

PETA filed the lawsuit against the Bentonville, Arkansas-based retailer on Feb. 23, demanding it take expedited action. Within three weeks, the device was listed as "out of stock" on Walmart.com.

The device is described on Walmart.com as a "large, small, and medium pet cage" and costs $139.61. In the product image, a female dog is secured in the device with straps around her neck and abdomen.

A March 12 post on BreedingBusiness.com said the device is often used by breeders who "are trying to mate two aggressive dogs."

"Profit-seeking breeders are using these racks when the females are not ready to mate." The post also noted that breeders are tying dogs as young as six months old to the racks instead of two-year-olds who are capable of breeding.

Questions about the safety and ethics of using the device on female dogs have been part of a heated debate on social media platforms in the United States for years.

"The world is already overcrowded with homeless dogs, and no one wants to breed more dogs," PETA said in a statement. "Walmart's decision to stop selling this device sets a great example for the retail industry."

However, PETA said the devices are still being sold on major U.S. e-commerce sites, including Amazon and eBay.
