Recently, Amazon issued a high-risk operation warning that adding promotional information or company details in product descriptions will cause ASIN to be restricted, which will directly affect the IPI score. As early as May this year, Amazon raised the IPI threshold score for Q3 from 350 to 400. In July this year, the index soared directly to 500 points, and the evaluation period was brought forward by 5 weeks. Those with low IPI scores between July 13-19 and August 10-16 will face storage restrictions from August 16 to December 31. The peak season is approaching, and you can imagine the importance of IPI scores to FBA sellers. Amazon's official explanation for this is as follows: The product descriptions you edit and upload on Amazon should be relevant to the product. Product-related shipping information cannot be added to the product description. Sellers cannot use seller detailed information or any other redundant information for seller marketing. If the product has no relevant detailed information, you can choose not to fill it in. If a seller adds promotional information or company details to the product details page, it will directly affect the seller’s IPI score, thereby affecting the seller’s ability to sell through FBA on Amazon. Amazon’s original notice is as follows: The notice clearly states that the seller's listing should not include the seller's name, email address, website URL, company details, or other product sales information. Promotional language such as "sale" and "free shipping" should not appear in the listing product description. If your ASIN is suppressed due to violation of this policy, you will receive a relevant email in the performance notification. You can fix the product information through the edit link in MYI to remove the prohibited text, or make a bulk update to the feed. Once corrected, the listing will be automatically restored within 24 hours and the ASIN will be activated . The new FBA regulations are about to be implemented. The editor has once again sorted out some IPI policy-related information for everyone. I hope that sellers can clearly understand the IPI score and reserve more inventory during the peak season. 1. IPI threshold score raised to 500 2. New rules will come into effect on August 16, 2020 4. Free stock transfer activity will start on July 14th 5. Amazon not only raised the IPI threshold score, but also extended the storage restriction execution period and replaced the quarterly assessment with a weekly assessment: the Q4 storage restriction was extended from 13 weeks to 19 weeks, and the IPI assessment interval was shortened from 5 weeks to 4 weeks. 6. The restrictions in Q4 have less to do with the volume of goods and more to do with ASIN. This means that sellers can no longer focus on small and light items to maximize profits. 7. Before December 31, any items that exceed the storage limit will be charged an additional fee. Starting August 1, even if the seller exceeds the limit for only one day, a monthly fee of $10 per cubic foot will be charged. The new regulations mainly affect the following ten aspects of FBA sellers: 1. All overstock inventory must be removed by mid-August 2. The slow warehousing of overseas goods will catch sellers off guard and reduce sales speed 3. Inventory removal may take longer than expected, resulting in delayed refunds 4. FBA sellers with an IPI below 500 and excess inventory will see a surge in costs in Q4 5. In order to pay for the fees, FBA sellers with excess inventory may significantly increase product prices or reduce profit margins 6. Sellers who fail to reach the IPI threshold will focus only on profitable products 7. Some FBA sellers may switch to self-fulfillment mode 8. In this quarter, sellers may actively seek flexible suppliers who can accept smaller purchase orders. 9. Sellers with large inventories, fast turnover, low IPI, and slim profits suffer the most 10. With the investment of long-term storage fees and overdue fees for FBA sellers in Q4, Amazon's profits will rise |
