The US Consumer Notification Act will officially take effect on June 27. Under the constraints of this act, Amazon has launched large-scale account verification in the past month. It also coincides with the critical stage of preparing for the Member Day promotion, and many sellers have been exhausted recently.
Today, there is still half a month before the bill is officially implemented, but the account verification wave is still coming one after another. It is understood that the large-scale address verification that broke out at the end of May has not subsided yet, and the enhanced account verification has started again recently.
Amazon account verification has been upgraded again, and some sellers have registered! It is reported that many sellers have received Amazon enhanced video verification notifications recently. According to the content of the email, sellers need to complete additional identity verification before they can sell normally on the platform. During the review period, sellers need to show the original ID card and business license submitted when registering.
It is worth noting that Amazon does not accept any new files, and the video call takes about 20 minutes. If you do not make an appointment for a video call within 14 days, you will face the risk of being banned from selling.

Judging from feedback from multiple parties, the current verification scope involves new and old accounts, but the overall impact on sellers is relatively small. In fact, enhanced video verification appeared as early as last year, but the frequency of outbreaks has increased significantly since May, and the pass rate has also decreased.
It should be noted that the questions involved in the enhanced video verification are very detailed. If you answer incorrectly or use someone else's information to register a legal person, you will most likely fail. Some sellers have had their accounts blocked because of this:
"Not only does the legal person need to leave the country and show the business license and ID card, but he also needs to answer various questions. The legal person has no contact with the operation and cannot answer the questions, so it is easy to be suspended. We have already suspended one of them." "I prepared more than 30 questions and answers, but after I bought the store and changed the information, Amazon only recognized the legal person and license at the time of initial registration during the video verification of the legal person." "There was a video of a legal person certification that was down. An elderly person answered that there was no problem. If it was not a real operation, it would basically be impossible to answer. There were some jokes, but the information was all real, but it was still down, saying it was a fraud."
Not only that, many sellers who have not violated any rules have also received verification notices. Some sellers received video audits from the Mexican site just for syncing with FBA, and some sellers even created a site out of nothing: "One of my accounts received a temporary review from the Mexican site, and funds were reserved, but the key point is that I don't have a Mexican site."
In addition, there are sellers whose accounts have been blocked by mistake. One seller revealed that he clicked on the link to make an appointment when he first received the email, but never received a response. Three days after the appointment, he repeatedly opened the link to reschedule, but was repeatedly reminded that "You have already made an appointment, do not make multiple appointments."
After the seller opened a case and consulted customer service, the reply he received was that if the video verification team did not respond, they would send another email to schedule an appointment after the 14-day period. Later, he did receive a new video appointment email, which prompted him to complete the verification within 7 days. However, after opening the store, the seller found that his account had been deactivated, and even if he passed the video verification, he could not be sure that he could reactivate the account.
Now, as the Consumer Notification Act is approaching, the big promotion campaign is about to begin, and Amazon's account review is more stringent than before. For this reason, sellers must submit valid information in accordance with official requirements, make full preparations, and complete verification in a timely manner to avoid missing out on the big promotion.
Is the date of Member Day officially set? Sellers: All the traffic has been taken away by Temu
As time goes by, the atmosphere of the peak season promotion is getting stronger. Recently, it was reported that some sellers received relevant notifications that Amazon will hold Prime Day on July 11 and 12.
At the same time, some foreign media speculated that based on historical rules, Amazon usually holds Prime Day in July, and basically does not choose the first week of July, but Tuesday to Wednesday of the following week. Therefore, the most likely time point is July 12th to July 13th.
However, the above news has not yet been officially confirmed by Amazon. Of course, based on previous years, the official date of Prime Day will most likely be announced soon.
I still remember that during last year's Prime Day , Amazon Prime members purchased more than 300 million items in total, setting a record high. The two-day high-intensity exposure also stimulated a large number of sellers to increase both traffic and sales. Although consumers' shopping spending has become more conservative due to the weak economic trend, according to Jungle Scout's research data, 68% of consumers and will shop on Prime Day this year.
In order to seize this once-a-year opportunity for explosive sales, the top priority for sellers is to formulate a comprehensive stocking plan to ensure sufficient supply of goods for sale. At the same time, they must also make product marketing plans in advance and maintain new and old listings in order to maximize the traffic during the promotion period.
However, despite the intense preparations for the big sale, many sellers have recently hit a bottleneck, with traffic being the first and foremost issue.
A seller reported that after a large number of 20% discounts appeared at the front desk, his store only sold 5 orders that day, which fell to the lowest order volume in history. Since then, sales have been sinking to the bottom, and he had no choice but to adjust the coupon discount, but it only barely increased to more than 10 orders. Even with crazy advertising, the coupons were basically ignored. The seller couldn't help but wonder: Is Amazon's traffic taken away by Temu?

In fact, this seller is not an isolated case. Many sellers have reported that their sales have plummeted to the bottom in recent days, especially after the large-scale 20% discount blunders in the listings, which has caused the situation to worsen. The products in the same category have continued to decline in May, but in June they were further halved compared to the same period in May.
"Sales gradually increased at the end of May, until June 2nd when orders exploded. I thought it was a good start, but sales dropped directly to the level before liberation. The conversion rate was very low, and sales also fell. Sales were a little better today, and the conversion rate increased, but the advertising data was seriously delayed. What's wrong with Amazon recently? Has it been forced into a panic by Temu?" said a seller bluntly.
In the past two months, similar feedback has emerged one after another. Advertising effects have dropped sharply, listing conversion rates have plummeted, product sales have dropped sharply, and many sellers have encountered such difficulties at the same time.
Some sellers said that according to the data from the traffic monitoring platform, the platform traffic has been declining in recent times. Affected by this, some sellers found it increasingly difficult to promote their products, as if they had lost the new product period.

A seller revealed that he recently launched three products, all of which are derivatives or supplements of old products, but he found a huge gap compared with the past during the promotion process, which was particularly obvious in the last half year: the product that used to be sold out by Vine in an hour now has no one interested in it after an hour; the product that used to get a lot of exposure and clicks with just any advertisement, now has only sporadic exposure and clicks after doubling the BID bidding; the test results that used to come out about a week after being put on the shelves, now cannot be tested even after half a month. Some sellers speculated that Temu's rapid development in overseas markets may have indeed caused a certain degree of impact on Amazon, but more people believe that Temu's current size cannot be compared with Amazon. The recent sluggish traffic may be related to the sluggish market on the one hand, and the "consumption cooling-off period" before the big promotion on the other hand. Consumers have become more conservative in their shopping expenses and are ready to "hit the target" during the big promotion.
