Now, fake orders and reviews are being severely cracked down by the authorities. If buyers want to use the review method that they can use with confidence, they can only send messages on the site to request reviews. Although Amazon strictly prohibits the use of compensation to induce buyers to leave positive reviews, in fact, if there is no mention of positive reviews and no inducement, and the buyer is simply invited to leave a real experience, such review requests are actually officially allowed. However, the steps for sellers to request reviews were relatively complicated before. They had to click on the in-site messages to contact the buyer one by one, then copy their own review request template, replace it with the buyer's name and send it again. It was easy to make mistakes at some point in the process. Just recently, Amazon released a new feature for the review request mechanism - one-click review request. Just in the upper right corner of the order details, there is an additional “Request a Review” button next to the order refund button. There is no official announcement, which means that this is still a new feature that Amazon is testing. Sellers who cannot see this feature do not need to worry. The feature under testing will only be effective in the backend of some stores for the time being. Let’s first take a look at how this feature works. ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ How does one-click review request work? If you click "Request a Review" directly in the order details, you will jump to the confirmation page below. Let me give you a simple translation. Amazon does not require sellers to actively initiate a "review request" because Amazon will automatically request reviews for each order. However, if the seller must manually request a review for this order, please use this function (one-click review request) to do this instead of sending an email to the seller through the site message. The principle of this function is that after clicking the button, the Amazon system will automatically send a review request email to the buyer. However, the language, name and other information in the email are automatically matched, and the seller cannot customize the content. From beginning to end, the seller only needs to open the order details and click to request a review. It is all done automatically with one click. According to the information currently released, you can request a review with one click during the window period of about 4-30 days after confirming receipt of the goods. Although it is very convenient for sellers, the inability to customize the content is definitely a fatal flaw. Everyone knows Amazon's email style, which is a cold, standard official style. There is no need to expect a high review rate for this kind of review-seeking email. It is a blessing if there are no negative reviews. Since this function is not easy to use, can we still use the original method of requesting reviews - directly sending an internal message email? ◆ ◆ ◆ ◆ Our sellers’ response Amazon uses very mild words in the description of the "One Review Request" feature, which is contrary to the platform's gradually tightening crackdown on violations. As long as it is an illegal operation, regardless of whether it will be strictly investigated in practice, at least in the background documents, it is very strongly stated that it is an operation that violates the rules. This situation also shows that whether it is illegal to use in-site letter review is still controversial within the platform. Before Amazon officially reached a consensus, in-site letter review request was a gray area. At least if you follow the review request rules mentioned above (no inducement, no guidance, etc.), it is still safe to use in-site letter review request.
▲Currently, official documents also support sellers’ non-inducing review requests Moreover, a new situation occurred in this afternoon. Many sellers in our group reported that they found that they had this new function at noon and used it to request reviews for several orders. Then they suddenly found that the button disappeared in the afternoon. Even we ourselves encountered such a situation. In addition to the possibility that the test function was only temporarily open, the review request function may also have caused consumers to be disgusted by the overly official request for reviews, and then complained about the function, causing Amazon to urgently terminate the test. Regardless of the reason, the “one-click review request” is currently unavailable. Even if it is put back online in the future, it will definitely have a new mechanism with many changes. Judging from the change in Amazon’s attitude from allowing review requests in the beginning to its current ambiguous attitude, requesting reviews via email will most likely be listed as a violation in the future. After all, this will indeed lead to complaints from buyers about email harassment. If the new review request function can be tested and buyers give good feedback, then the review request function will no longer be available via email or inbox. Before that, it is still safe to request reviews, and you can use it as long as you can. Finally, I have prepared a tip for writing a review letter for everyone.
