Last Friday, we received news from an insider, which not only revealed the specific date of Primeday, but also revealed that this year's Primeday will be the longest in history, lasting 48 hours.

In addition, a friend revealed in the group yesterday that the daily LD time will end on the 14th, and it is also speculated that the start time of Primeday is likely to be the 15th.

However, just today, Amazon's official media has released the official news, which is exactly the same as the tip we received. This year's Prime Day officially starts at 0:00 on July 15 and lasts for 48 hours until 23:59 on July 16.

It is 12 hours longer than last year's Prime Day (which lasted 36 hours). What changes will the two-day membership day event bring? Let me analyze it with you below.

What changes are there to Prime Day this year?


1. Addition of new activities

If sellers had not signed up for Primeday’s flash sales last year, there would have been very limited ways for them to participate in this big event. They could only add words and event labels, and run some events that they could normally run to “pretend” to participate.


The addition of two new free events this year, Primeday Coupon and Prime Exclusive Flash Sale, allows sellers who don’t want to pay hundreds of dollars in LD registration fees to enjoy the benefits. 2. Advance notification of event schedule

In previous years, you would basically find out what period you were scheduled for about two weeks in advance. Last year, Amazon even officially announced the date of Primeday on July 4th.


This year, not only was the date announced in advance, but many sellers received scheduling emails in the first half of this month, informing them whether they were scheduled for Prime Day.

This change is quite useful because the effects of flash sales on the same day and those on other days will be very different. So if you know that you are not scheduled for the flash sales on the same day, you can prepare to participate in other activities; sellers who know that they are scheduled for the flash sales on the same day can also prepare enough goods.


III. Changes in BD Activities

This year, Primeday has added a pre-heating period BD activity. As the name suggests, the pre-heating period BD is a pre-heating activity before Primeday. The threshold is not low. Amazon has also sent notification emails to all eligible sellers.

During last year's Black Friday, many sellers complained that even though they had paid a hefty registration fee for the day's LD flash sales, some of the results were even worse than the free BD activities.


Now Amazon wants to do a warm-up period BD. I feel that this year it is very likely to suspend the display of BD during the big promotion festival. Let me wait and see what Amazon does next to make this guess.


4. Preferential rates for storage fees

In the past, we would worry about the high inventory fees caused by too much inventory for Prime Day, but this year Amazon was very conscientious and gave a 50%-75% off on monthly storage fees.

Small trends on Prime Day this year


Amazon has been making big moves in the first half of the year for this mid-year Prime Day, from spending nearly $1 billion to upgrade the delivery service for Prime members to using various preferential policies and free activities to attract sellers to participate in the event.


In addition, the official announcement time is much longer than before. These actions and changes undoubtedly reveal a signal that Amazon's Primeday this year will be a feast far beyond the past.


However, a longer duration is not entirely a good thing. The longer the event lasts, the effect will decrease exponentially. Without the sense of urgency of a short-term flash sale, it will affect customers' orders.


Moreover, the thresholds for several free activities this year are not high. Even if you can take advantage of the huge traffic of Primeday, how can you make your products stand out in an atmosphere where everyone is offering discounts?


So even if you participate in a free event, you must be well prepared.

1. In order to perform better on Prime Day, you need to get as much traffic as possible before the big promotion holiday.

2. The page should be optimized for major promotional holidays, and the main image and page elements should be used properly to attract customers' attention to the greatest extent on Member's Day and stand out among many competing products.
