Amazon US: Sellers can set the default processing time to 1 working day

On May 27, Amazon US announced that starting from May 25, 2021, sellers can set a faster default processing time of 1 working day based on their own operational capabilities.

Amazon said that customers like faster delivery and are more likely to buy products with faster estimated delivery times. Previously, Amazon used a default processing time of 2 business days to set the estimated delivery time for sellers to complete standard shipping orders. With this adjustment, sellers can choose a default processing time of 1 business day to provide faster estimated delivery times.

According to reports, processing time refers to the number of days it takes for sellers to pick, pack, and ship products after receiving an order. The estimated delivery time of an order is determined based on the processing time. The default processing time refers to the processing time set at the account level and applies to all products.

Amazon mentioned that only sellers with a Professional Selling Plan can update/edit their default handling time. The update steps are as follows: First, click "Shipping Settings" on the Seller Central Settings page; second, navigate to the "General Shipping Settings" tab on the Shipping Settings page; third, scroll down to "Handling Time" and click "Edit"; fourth, select "1 Day" or "2 Days" and click "Save".
