FedEx announces 2022 peak season surcharges! Freight rates will increase significantly starting September 5!

It is learned that recently, the US logistics company FedEx (FedEx) released a plan to adjust the peak season surcharges in 2022. The company will start collecting the first batch of peak season surcharges on September 5 this year, which will last until January 15, 2023.

FedEx said the move will prepare for high demand during the peak season so that it can provide the best service to its customers, while helping it pay for additional operating costs and ensure delivery efficiency during the peak season.

The following are the peak season surcharges for FedEx in 2022:

It can be seen that shipments requiring "special handling" (such as customs clearance) will be charged a surcharge of US$5.95 per piece; for so-called oversized cargo that does not conform to the company's transportable process, a fee of US$62.50 will be charged for each piece; for "unauthorized" transportation (this type of cargo has large size and weight, and is more suitable for LTL cargo transportation), a fee of US$350 will be charged for each piece.

Regarding FedEx Ground Economy Parcel Service, the first round of peak season surcharges will begin on September 5, and FedEx will charge $3.45 per package. The second round of surcharges will begin on October 3, charging $6.55 per package, nearly double the September surcharge, and the second round of surcharges will last until January 15, 2023.
