The report shows that online sales of beauty and personal care products in the United States have increased by 36% since 2022. Although COVID-19 restrictions have been relaxed and consumers have begun to return to physical stores, online sales continue to grow significantly.
In terms of online shopping demand, the strongest demand comes from second-tier and third-tier cities. In 2022, about 6 out of every 10 items were shipped to second-tier cities, and demand from third-tier cities also increased by 65%. On the other hand, the market share of first-tier cities climbed from 46.4% in 2021 to 37.1% in 2022, while the market share of third-tier cities reached 41.5% this year.
In addition to beauty and personal care products, the U.S. home decor, eyewear, and accessories markets have also seen huge growth, with the two growing by 59.2% and 55.7% respectively since 2022. Some other fast-growing markets include home appliances and electronics, health, and pharmaceuticals.
