Shopee product listing: What are the elements of a high-quality product listing and how to list the product.

High-quality listings have the following elements:

Accurate title/high-scoring reviews/attractive images/multi-gradient coupons/discounts, etc.

Negative examples: No discounts / irrelevant keywords / incomplete images / no reviews / no coupons, etc.

High-quality listing titles and keywords

1. When launching new products, you can first search for the local hot search terms on Shopee or other e-commerce platforms, and add the hot search terms related to the product to the title; Shopee merchant management team will also provide sellers with reference through the market weekly hot search terms every month

2. The title should cover the hot search terms related to the product as much as possible, separated by spaces, and the keywords with large search volume should be placed in the front; and the word limit of the title should be considered due to display problems on mobile terminals.

3. The frequency of changing product titles should not be too high, and the content should not be modified too much. It is best to only modify a few words at a time. Too many modifications will affect the product search ranking.

4. It is recommended to modify the title during periods of low traffic (such as early morning or midnight) to reduce the impact on product rankings

Product Description

• Description points: product details, store introduction, etc.

• Content arrangement: covering detailed introduction of products and stores, and content that customers are interested in

Other images:

• Ensure 9 pictures, and pay attention to the order of pictures; it would be better if there is a short video

• Adjust images of products that don’t convert well

• Upload up to 9 photos, each size must not exceed 2.0 MB

3. The discount is recommended to be greater than 50%

Product Reviews

1. The quality of reviews directly affects the quality of product listings. Five-star reviews are helpful in improving product search rankings.

2. Customers are required to evaluate their orders within 15 days after the order is completed. Sellers are advised to contact customers promptly and encourage them to give positive reviews.

3. The comments must be of reference value to other customers, and customers are encouraged to post pictures and comments.

4. If the customer gives a bad review, it is recommended that the seller negotiate with the customer and modify the review in a timely manner. The seller will have one opportunity to modify the review within 30 days after the review.

Keep updating, updating and optimizing

• New products are released in small batches at different time periods every day, so that the newly uploaded products will be at the top of the search rankings of similar products, which is conducive to the continuous exposure of the store.

• Keep optimizing and updating slow-selling products in the store

• Clear out products that have not been sold for a long time by yourself, and consider optimizing them before launching new ones

How to List

1. Edit a single product

Log in to the Seller Center backend, go to My Products, click the product you want to modify to enter the product information editing page, and after the modification is completed, click the Update button at the bottom of the editing page to save the edited product information.

2. Edit products in batches

Log in to the Seller Center backend, go to My Products, log in to the Seller Center backend, go to My Products, click Batch Actions, and select Edit Existing Products in the My drop-down menu.

Select the corresponding option according to the information you need to edit in batches. The page will jump to the page shown in the figure below. Click the Download button to batch export the product information list. After editing the product information that needs to be modified, drag the modified product information table to the upload selection box next to it for upload.

FAQ

1. Why can't some products be uploaded or modified?

• If a product meets all of the following conditions, it cannot be uploaded or modified (including batch modification):

- The product title is exactly the same as other products in this store (it doesn't matter what the order is; even if the order is different but the words are exactly the same, it is considered a duplicate title);

- The product cover image is the same as the cover image of other products in this store.

a. If the seller uses the same URL to upload, it will be considered a duplicate image;

b. If the seller uploads the same image using different URLs, the system will determine whether it is a duplicate image;

• Deleted products are not included in the inspection scope;

• Products that are banned from uploading are within the inspection scope.


2. Why is the product banned?

• Seller Center can see the specific reasons why each product is banned from uploading;

• If the product is banned/removed, it may be because it violates Shopee regulations or the product is prohibited from being uploaded;

- Common violations:

a. Use of images that infringe copyright;

b. Provide a link in the store description or product description;

c. The product category is wrong;

d. The product description does not match the product;

e. Repeated listing of the same product.


3. What situations would be considered as false trafficking?

To ensure that buyers can easily find and compare products on Shopee, we prohibit the following behaviors from manipulating search results to achieve unfair rankings:

• Setting inappropriate keywords

- Using repeated or irrelevant keywords in your product titles or descriptions.

For example:

a. Add words such as Adidas, Puma and other brands under the Nike sports brand shoes;

b. Add other product names to the "Short Skirt" product: short skirt, dress, trousers, shoes;

c. Mention other brand names: Apple iPhone 6s (Samsung, Nokia, etc. cannot be mentioned in this case);

d. Large number of repeated and meaningless product names: Apple iPhone 6s Apple iPhone 6s AppleiPhone .

• misleading and inaccurate pricing;

- Manipulating search results by listing abnormally high or low prices for items; or listing items at very low prices to attract consumers, but the items themselves are marked as not for sale.

4. Why are duplicate products deleted by the system?

In order to provide buyers with a better search experience, the Shopee platform will delete duplicate products.

• Definition of duplicate listings:

Duplicate listings are products that have the same information or have the same or highly similar important attributes and are listed multiple times. Duplicate listings are considered products when any three of the six dimensions, namely, product name, picture, product description, price, specification, and category, have a high degree of overlap.

• Logic for deleting duplicate products:

- If no orders are placed for the products listed repeatedly, only the latest product will be retained.

- If some of the products listed repeatedly have orders, the products that have been ordered will be retained and the products that have not been ordered will be deleted.

- If all duplicate products are sold, all products will be retained.
