What is Shopee commission and handling fee? Shopee commission and handling fee review
The rules and calculation methods of the commission and handling fees charged by sellers on the Shopee platform. The handling fee rate is 2% and the seller bears it

Platform Commission

Commissionable orders

1. Only charge transaction commissions for completed orders (the commission base does not include order shipping costs);

2. If the order is cancelled, no transaction commission will be charged;

3. The same seller will not be charged transaction commission on each site in the first three months of the platform.

Note: Shopee reserves the right of final interpretation and does not rule out adjustments to charging items and standards. The current version of the rate is applicable until the Shopee platform releases a new commission rate.

Shopee new sellers commission-free period calculation rules

Shopee provides a three-month commission-free period to new sellers who enter the platform for the first time. The commission-free period for new sellers on each site starts from the date the seller opens a store on the corresponding platform.

Example:

(1) Seller A opens a store on the Singapore site on July 1, so the store on the Singapore site will start to be charged commissions on October 1;

(2) If seller A opens a store in Malaysia on September 1, commissions will be charged for the store in Malaysia starting on December 1.

Transaction Fees

The Shopee platform began charging sellers a 2% transaction fee on January 1, 2019. This fee is actually a handling fee that needs to be paid to the transaction clearing service provider. Previously, this part of the fee has always been borne by Shopee.

Transaction Fee Standards

1. Only charge transaction commissions for completed orders

2. The charge amount is 3% of the transaction amount (the transaction amount is the order amount minus all discounts provided by the seller, excluding shipping costs)

3. In case of return and refund, the transaction commission corresponding to the returned goods will be refunded

4. If the order is cancelled, no transaction commission will be charged

5. The commission amount for Taiwan and Thailand sites is rounded to the nearest integer, and the commission amount for Malaysia and Singapore sites is rounded to two decimal places.

• Additional information:

- Shopee reserves the right to set the final price and does not rule out regular adjustments to the fees. This rate is applicable to 2017.

- No transaction commission will be charged for the first three months for new sellers on the corresponding site

- No commission for Indonesia site

Development process

Taiwan and Malaysia markets will charge transaction commissions starting from April 10, 2017

Thailand and Singapore markets will charge transaction commissions starting from July 1, 2017
