The amount involved exceeds two million, and several sellers have been deceived, exposing another cross-border scam!

As the scale of the cross-border e-commerce market continues to grow, while attracting many overseas investors, it has also attracted a number of institutions that use the name of cross-border to commit fraud. For example, they use the name of training to defraud course fees, use the no-source model routine, and run away after collecting money for evaluation. These chaos are endless and have become the sword of Damocles hanging over the heads of novice sellers.

Just recently, we received information from sellers that some unscrupulous organizations have been committing fraud in the name of "cross-border e-commerce".

The amount involved exceeds 2 million, and the seller reveals the cross-border scam

It is learned that recently several sellers have revealed that a large number of bad organizations have appeared on a domestic short video social platform, using the name of cross-border e-commerce companies to commit fraud.

These unscrupulous organizations use tempting slogans such as “0 deposit/0 experience/0 cost/high profit/low threshold”, “no need to stock up/massive resources/drop shipping”, “use the manufacturer’s goods and make your own money” , etc., and have deceived many novice sellers who know little about the cross-border industry or are just getting started.

According to one of the deceived sellers, a scammer who claimed to be an employee of an overseas warehouse supply chain company added him as a friend and claimed that his organization could provide free guidance for customers to start a business and open online stores. Customers only need to sell the products they provide to "make money while doing nothing," and the profit of some categories can even be as high as 300%.

The bad agency stated that the Costco project of the Southeast Asian e-commerce platform in which their company cooperated did not charge any fees, had low risk and zero cost, and was simple to operate, so newcomers could quickly get started. They then provided the seller with the URL of the Costco website , https://www.kshop88.com/ .

The deceived sellers believed it and registered a store according to the salesperson's instructions and continued to invest money. However, after a period of time, they found that the profits had not yet been received and wanted to withdraw. However, the bad agency refused to refund the money on the grounds of "breach of contract" and swallowed up the rent and payment for the store.

As of May 7, more than 20 sellers have gathered to defend their rights, and the total amount of money they have been defrauded of has exceeded two million . Many sellers have reported the case to the police, but have not yet received a response that the case has been successfully filed. We will continue to pay attention to subsequent developments and hope that the deceived sellers can get justice as soon as possible.

Cross-border scams are complex and fake websites are hard to guard against

It is believed that the most noteworthy thing in this cross-border scam is the serial tricks carried out by the bad organization using fake websites.

After investigation, the deceived sellers found that the Costco provided by the bad organization was actually a fake website . The platform did not conduct any actual transactions. The forged sales records and cash withdrawal amounts in the background were all baits based on the psychological changes and financial resources of the victims.

It is understood that the specific fraud routines of this bad institution are as follows:

1. Marketing to induce store opening

Unscrupulous organizations will post advertisements on social media or e-commerce platforms, using the gimmick of "low cost" or even "zero cost" to attract users to open e-shops, and promise high returns. After getting in touch with the users, the unscrupulous organizations will guide them to download the chat software they provide, register for stores on fake websites, and even send so-called official emails to users to enhance their credibility.

2. Defraud payment and lower vigilance

After a user successfully opens a store, bad organizations will guide the user to pay money to "stock up" on the grounds of ensuring store traffic and sales, and defraud varying amounts of money.

At this stage, users can also withdraw part of their profits through the platform. But in fact, these sales records are all false data forged by back-end technicians.

3. Falsifying sales volume and restricting cash withdrawals

After operating for a period of time, users will find that traffic has skyrocketed, and the speed of stockpiling cannot keep up with the speed of order growth. Bad agencies falsely claim that this is a traffic support period for newcomers, and further state that out-of-stock situations will cause customer complaints and affect the store’s reputation. They restrict user withdrawals and even freeze most of the funds on the grounds of “failure to complete orders on time.”

4. Default trap, swallowing up funds

Finally, when users find that their income is always lower than the cost of opening a store and purchasing goods, they want to close the store. The bad institutions will then swallow up all their funds on the grounds of "breach of contract."

In fact, it is learned that this is not the first time that bad organizations have used self-made fake websites to commit fraud. In addition to the unknown Costco mentioned above, many sellers have recently revealed that bad organizations have deceived novice sellers into joining fake platforms by changing the domain names of well-known official websites , such as ebaysmalls.top, eBaytop.cyou, eBaysmall.world, etc.

The routines of these unscrupulous organizations are almost the same. They all publish a large amount of false propaganda on social platforms to attract victims. They induce victims to continue investing by making fake websites and falsifying sales until they lose all their money.

Here, we would like to remind all sellers again that nowadays, the cross-border e-commerce industry is in constant turmoil and chaos. Many rampant scams target the psychology of many novice sellers who are eager for quick success and high returns with low investment. Therefore, all sellers, especially those who have just entered the cross-border industry, should remain highly vigilant and be more wary of unofficial organizations that claim to have low investment and high returns.
