Amazon FBA new regulations, a large number of sellers received warnings! !

Amazon has put forward new requirements for filling in tracking codes for FBA shipments in 2025, and many sellers have received warnings from Amazon!

01 If you don’t fill in the tracking code, your account will be deducted points directly!

Recently, a seller reported that he received a warning from Amazon for one of his shipments because the tracking of the box did not match the actual situation and the box number did not correspond one-to-one with the trackings.

There are many sellers who have received warnings from Amazon due to similar shipments:

"I received it too. Who can match it one by one?"

"Please find a solution. I have encountered this problem recently and it keeps giving me errors. There are hundreds of key points to solve it..."

"What should I do if this problem occurs? My defect rate has reached 14%."

"If it weren't for Shiptrack, how would the carrier estimate the time to enter the warehouse? Would I have to keep confirming the scheduled delivery time with the logistics company when the shipment is about to arrive at the warehouse? This would be quite energy-consuming if the shipment volume is large."

In response to these situations, many sellers believe that this warning is unreasonable. After UPS and Fedex receive the goods, they post them in their own way without taking photos for record. They are only responsible for delivering them to you. The seller does not mix UPS and will not provide this one-to-one corresponding information to the seller. So how should the seller fill in the tracking?

Although some sellers who have been filling in FBA shipment numbers have not been affected for the time being, it is still unclear whether the situation will be traced back to the past.

As more and more sellers encounter similar problems, Amazon has repeatedly reminded sellers that it has been stepping up efforts to tighten compliance requirements.

In response to this problem, some sellers gave suggestions:

  • Don’t fill it in first, then fill it in with the corresponding weight.

  • Sellers can contact the overseas warehouse or freight forwarder in advance and explicitly ask them to label the boxes according to the box numbers and return the tracking number based on the box numbers. At the same time, they can appropriately increase the labor fee to ensure the quality of service.

  • Sellers can ask the freight forwarder to print the labels in advance in China and do the pre-labeling work themselves to ensure the accurate correspondence between the box number and the tracking code, reducing subsequent performance issues caused by inconsistent tracking codes.

02 How can sellers avoid receiving early warnings?

For FBA shipments, there is a shipment performance page in the background:

We can see five performance indicators, namely: missing tracking information, incorrect labeling - product related, missing labeling - product related, inaccurate number of items in the box, and other labeling defects.

That is to tell us that we must fill in the tracking code, make sure not to put the wrong label on it, and make sure not to send the wrong quantity.

Moreover, each item has an acceptable rate. If it exceeds that acceptable rate, it may affect your subsequent shipments.

1. Label-related issues:

  • Incorrect labeling: including unscannable barcodes, scanners unable to recognize barcodes, incorrect product labeling, etc. The allowable rate is 0.65%.

  • Missing labels: If the suffocation warning label is missing, the Amazon barcode or the supplier barcode is missing (FNSKU or supplier barcode is one of the two), the allowance rate is 0.69%.

  • Other labeling issues: If there is no labeling, the allowance is 1.37%.

2. Problems with the goods in the box:

  • Inaccurate number of items in the box: refers to the number of items in the box not being consistent with expectations, with an allowable rate of 2.48%.

  • The goods in the box do not match the expectations: If the goods placed in the box do not match the expectations (excessive quantity or other products), the allowable rate is 1.22%.

3. Other shipment performance indicators:

Although not directly related to labels or box contents, they can also affect the overall performance of the shipment performance score, including:

  • Order Defect Rate (ODR): A key metric that measures a seller’s ability to provide a good buyer experience, including the percentage of orders with negative feedback, A-to-z Guarantee claims, or service credit card declines

  • Return Dissatisfaction Rate: refers to the percentage of valid return requests that were not responded to within 48 hours, were incorrectly rejected, or received negative feedback from buyers;

  • Cancellation rate: refers to the percentage of times sellers cancel orders (buyers cancel orders not included in this performance)

  • Late Shipment Rate: refers to the percentage of late shipment orders. Orders shipped by the seller after the estimated delivery date will be considered late shipment orders.

  • Valid Tracking Rate: This is calculated as the ratio of the number of packages that were provided with valid tracking numbers during shipment to the total number of packages shipped and confirmed.
