Attention! Amazon's year-end restrictions: Sellers should update their origin information quickly!

Recently, many sellers have reported that they have received notifications from Amazon in the backend and in their mailboxes asking them to provide country of origin information.

Specifically, Amazon reminds sellers that they need to supplement the origin information for all goods shipped from non-EU countries to the EU and the UK through the FBA export procedure before December 31, 2024.

From December 31, 2024, product listings without country of origin information will be restricted from cross-border sales until the required information is provided.

This is a legal requirement set by EU and UK customs, so Amazon must collect origin information for all products exported through FBA.

This time, Amazon is mainly targeting the European Union and the United Kingdom, but sellers on the US site have also recently received this notice, and it is recommended that they also be improved.

What will be the impact if it is not provided?

  • New product selection : If you do not provide the country of origin information for your product, you will not be able to successfully create a new product.

  • Existing selections : If you do not provide country of origin information for all existing applicable products by 31 December 2024, your products will be restricted from entering and leaving the EU and UK.

How to view the SKUs that require COO?

You need to download the "Classification Product Report" by yourself (path: Seller Central > Data Report > Inventory Report > Classification Product Report) to view the SKUs that do not provide COO information. If the "Classification Product Report" option is not displayed on this page, you can contact the seller support partner to grant access to the "Classification Product Report".

Steps to update origin information

Step 1. Sellers who have not yet completed COO compliance requirements will receive the following reminder on the seller platform. Click "Confirm" as soon as possible before December 31 , and submit COO information as soon as possible as required .

Step 2. Update the product’s origin information by following these simple steps:

1) Log in to the backend > Manage all inventory > Find the product that needs to be updated > Select "Edit product information" > In the "Product details" or "Safety and compliance" tab, find the origin field and edit it.

2) Upload the origin information for the relevant products. Chinese sellers select "China" as the origin .

Final reminder:

1. When creating a new listing, sellers should use the batch template form to upload and ensure that the "Country/Region of Origin" column in the Excel form is filled in with complete information.

2. Since it takes a certain amount of time for Amazon to review the documents, it is recommended that sellers complete compliance in advance to avoid affecting their accounts and ASIN sales permissions .

<<:  Attention! Amazon is strictly investigating the behavior of refurbishing listings!

>>:  Mentality collapsed! Some sellers' sales plummeted, and the number of orders was zero.
