Walmart's exclusive dresser recalled due to tipping and pinching hazards

It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced the recall of dressing tables sold by GIKPAL due to the risk of tipping over and pinching.

The recalled products involve GIKPAL 12-drawer dressers with model numbers HI1437_13, HI1437_14, or HI1437_02. The dressers have brown, black, or white wood finishes with black frames, fabric drawers, and black handles. They measure approximately 31 inches wide, 12 inches long, 48 inches high, and weigh approximately 35 pounds. The model number, "Fabric Dresser," and "Made in China" are printed on the product packaging.

About 800 of the products were sold on Walmart's website for about $91 between January and November 2024. The CPSC said the dresser is unstable if not anchored to the wall, posing a serious tipping and pinching hazard that could result in injury or even death to children, violating the performance and warning label requirements of the federal STRONG Act.

The CPSC said that if the dresser is not properly secured to the wall, consumers should stop using it immediately and place it out of the reach of children. Consumers should contact ONME Direct for instructions on a full refund and submit photos of the product being disposed of. ONME Direct and Walmart are currently contacting all known purchasers directly.
