Best Buy plans to launch new third-party marketplace in the U.S. this summer


It is learned that on January 14, according to foreign media reports, Best Buy plans to restart the third-party market in the United States this summer to expand its sales base and product lineup.


It is understood that Best Buy launched its third-party marketplace in 2011, and closed the business in 2016 after five years of operation due to weak sales and fierce competition from platforms such as Amazon. Since then, Best Buy has continued to operate the third-party marketplace in Canada and has achieved certain growth. According to the company's CEO Corie Berry, Best Buy plans to launch a new and more diversified marketplace platform in the United States in mid-2025.


In addition to providing electronic products, Best Buy also plans to expand into health care products, mobile phone accessories, home theater equipment and other categories. Best Buy hopes to use its leadership in consumer electronics to meet consumers' demand for a wider range of products by establishing a differentiated digital marketplace.


Currently, Best Buy has built a landing page for the upcoming US market to attract sellers to open stores. The advantage of the platform lies in Best Buy's huge user base, including 10 billion website visits per year, 200 million customers and 1 million online transactions per week, which will help attract more sellers to settle in.
