Sellers who haven’t changed can just wait and see, as Amazon is still updating it gradually. What new things does this Deal update bring?

The newly added deal activity is 7-Day Deals.

Its name suggests that the flash sale will last for 7 days. Before this deal was added, the duration of the well-known LD was usually 4 to 6 hours, and the duration of BD was 14 days in two weeks. The duration of 7-Day Deals is exactly half of that of BD.

Based on the information I have so far, I think the 7-Day Deals will be displayed on the Today's Deal page just like the current deal activities, and will also be marked with a "Limited Time Discount" like the one below on the search page.

Since it is a deal activity displayed together with LD, it is certainly not free. However, I asked around and none of the sellers in our group could sign up, and none of them could be searched.

It is speculated that this function currently only has one option, and the subsequent registration entrance and recommendation function have not yet been launched, so sellers cannot participate in this event now.

However, it is certain that you will have to pay, but the official has not yet released any information related to the fees. Here are my thoughts and analysis on this new deal.

First of all, we need to clearly distinguish between Lightning Deal and the newly added 7-Day Deals. LD and 7-Day Deals are not the same thing. It is recommended that you use the English backend when operating.

As shown in the above picture, it shows creating a new LD instead of a Deal, which means that 7-Day Deals is really just a prototype. Amazon probably didn’t expect that a seller would come up with this feature so soon.

Since it is an activity completely separate from LD, I guess the presentation format of this 7-Day Deals may be closer to BD, which means there will not be a progress bar for the number of flash sales like LD.

However, Amazon has made it clear that there will be a "limited-time discount" logo, which is consistent with LD.

Combining the above two points, I speculated that although there is no progress bar for the number of flash sales, 7-Day Deals may have a countdown progress bar to show the timeliness of this deal activity.

Previously, if an account did not have the support of an investment manager, it was impossible to sign up for BD (not counting plug-ins such as service providers). In other words, for old accounts, the only deal activities available were LD.

It is very necessary for Amazon to launch a BD event that everyone can participate in, and 7-Day Deals is this event.

In previous years, during major promotional events such as Prime Day, free BD could even be more effective than paid LD activities, which is not a good result for both sellers who paid and Amazon.

Therefore, I speculate that after the launch of 7-Day Deals, it will become a new revenue growth point for Amazon (harvesting our money) , and the effect of BD will be gradually weakened by Amazon. After all, we cannot allow paying players to be chopped off by free players, right?

For now, this new deal is worth looking forward to. When the new activity is just launched, there will definitely be a lot of traffic. It is recommended that sellers who can participate can give it a try.
