Another wave of store closures?! Amazon is secretly taking action

Last time I told you that the European Union has introduced a new policy that restricts Amazon from arbitrarily banning sellers’ stores. Amazon needs to notify sellers 30 days in advance and explain the reasons for any actions such as freezing and closing stores of third-party sellers.

This policy is definitely good. Sellers have been oppressed by Amazon's unfair terms for a long time and have long complained. Although the EU government did something that was beneficial to sellers, it did not expect Amazon to find a loophole in its implementation.

In recent days, everyone has been discussing in our seller communication group that there has been a significant surge in cases of accounts being blocked or undergoing KYC audits , and the timing of the surge happened to be right after the announcement of the policy prohibiting Amazon from closing stores.

The reason for this wave of store closures

Most of the stores closed in this wave are in Europe, with the UK and Germany being the hardest hit. And based on the information I have collected, many of them are new stores in Europe.

The new policy agreed upon by Amazon and the EU will take effect on August 16. The wave of store closures Amazon carried out during this period was obviously an attempt to close the suspicious list on hand before the new policy was implemented.

This means that Amazon will have a suspicious list and keep it until before or after the peak season to settle accounts. Now that this new policy has emerged, Amazon has blocked all the stores on the list in advance.

Not only is the impact of this ban wide-ranging, but the difficulty of appealing has also risen to a new level. Not only is the approval rate low, but it also takes longer than before. Many sellers have reported that they have not received a response to their appeals at the beginning of the month.

If there are problems with the new store’s information or if there are any errors in the operation, it will easily trigger a second review, and the seller will usually be required to provide water and electricity bills, business licenses and other information.

Here I would like to give you a tip. According to our previous tests, the approval rate of appeals using bank statements is quite high . As for water and electricity bills , they must be issued by state-owned institutions and must have the same address as the business license.

Old accounts are closed and reviewed

In addition to new stores on European sites, old stores and stores on US sites were also affected by the store closure review. There are many reasons why these stores were closed.

Judging from the feedback we have received so far, many sellers have skirted the policy or even had their accounts banned for violating the rules, such as using multiple accounts to copy each other's sales, using black technology to ship goods themselves, etc.

There are also many sellers who have been blocked due to poor performance. It has been more than a week since Primeday ended, and customers have received the products and used them for a few days, so complaints and bad reviews about product problems will follow one after another in the last few days. If not handled properly, it is easy to exceed the ODR and get the store blocked.

Many service providers have been hyping this topic recently, and at the same time, they also brought up the news that Amazon’s investment promotion this year has ended, resulting in a recent surge in the price of second-instance accounts.

At this critical period, everyone must be more careful in choosing. I have always advised you not to buy a shop as the risk is quite high. It doesn’t cost much to register yourself and find a business manager. It is said that some business managers still have vacancies, so hurry up.

Finally, do a little survey

There are always newcomers who come to consult me about some basic questions. Even many small and medium-sized sellers feel that their current sales bottleneck is because they have not laid a solid foundation and want to consolidate it.

I have collected a few knowledge points and listed them in the following list. You can vote for the Amazon knowledge points you want to know. The content of this vote will determine what we will share with you next time~

To thank you for voting, I have compiled a collection of audit appeal skills. Please scan the QR code below to get it from me~
