Shopify reported that prices for goods and services in North America have been rising across the board this year, including shipping costs from logistics operators.
Adobe expects prices to increase 10% year-on-year across the market compared to last year's holiday shopping season. Here are the latest price rate changes for major North American logistics companies:
USPS: Starting January 9, 2022, retail rates for first-class parcels weighing 1 to 4 ounces will increase by $0.50; retail rates for parcels weighing 5 to 12 ounces will increase by $0.30. Parcels weighing more than 12 ounces will climb to $0.80 to $1.70.
Canada Post: Effective January 10, 2022, Canada Post rates will increase by an average of 3.5% domestically and 2.8% in the United States.
UPS: Starting December 26, 2021, the average rate will increase by 5.9%; in addition, the delivery area surcharge and other remote postal codes will also change, effective January 9, 2022.
DHL: On January 1, 2022, DHL express retail rates will increase by an average of 5.9%.
