Is there something wrong with fake orders? The fake orders of substitutes alarmed the US government

Let’s start today’s main text.

◆ ◆ ◆ ◆

Recently, a piece of news has spread rapidly on the US Internet - consumers across the United States have inexplicably received mysterious small packages from China, which are mostly seeds, herbs and other small items they have never ordered. According to current media reports, more than a thousand consumers from at least 12 different states in the United States have reported that they have received similar packages.

The contents of these packages were written on the waybills as earrings, accessories or jewelry, but the actual packages contained unknown seeds or herbs. In response to this situation, the US Department of Agriculture quickly issued a warning, requiring all consumers who received unknown seeds not to sow them privately to avoid species invasion.

Ryan Quarles, a spokesman for the Department of Agriculture, said in an interview that there is not enough information to determine whether this incident is a scam, a prank, or an unusual act of agricultural bioterrorism against the United States. These "uninvited" seeds are likely to be invasive, bringing unknown diseases to the local plant environment in the United States or robbing living space. All citizens who receive such packages should contact the Department of Agriculture immediately.

Another group of people in the agricultural sector believe that these packages are actually used to fake orders and are an international Internet scam. Foreign third-party sellers use American addresses and Amazon information to make fake sales and get positive reviews to improve product ratings. This operation has become well known on Amazon.

Sellers should be able to understand after reading this. Because it is very costly to directly brush products, Amazon sellers sometimes use low-value items or even empty packages to brush orders in order to reduce the loss of the value of the goods.

As to whether this wave of sellers is using seeds as substitutes to swipe orders, it is hard to say now. Generally speaking, sellers who can ship empty packages should know the sensitivity of seeds to some extent. Even if they ship low-value items, they will only send paper towels, bags and other low-value items, but at least they are practical and will not attract attention.

Seeds are too sensitive, and the fact that Sino-US relations are tense right now will make the consequences of this incident even more serious. To put it more seriously, if the United States accuses us of using biological weapons, we really have no way of explaining it.

Just last weekend, Amazon sent a group email to sellers suspected of fake orders, saying that the sellers were offering compensation for buyers' reviews, which really scared everyone. Now there is another scandal of fake orders with empty packages. Amazon will definitely take action against suspected fake order sellers in the near future.

Response to the crackdown on fake orders

We have shared before that Amazon uses a pollution mechanism to determine reviews and fake orders. In other words , if there is interaction with the seller/buyer accounts that have been determined to have fake orders, there is a high probability that Amazon will record it as a key monitoring target , and if there is another violation, the store will be easily frozen.

Therefore, during this sensitive period, the safest way is to temporarily stay out of the spotlight and avoid gray operations that Amazon may find fault with. If you really need to conduct an evaluation to increase ranking or score, you must pay attention to the safety and effectiveness of the evaluation environment.

In simple terms, the more the environment and operation of real buyers are simulated, the safer and more effective the evaluation will be. Not only is the safety of the environment important, but the authenticity of the content is also a link that sellers often overlook . Some sellers talk about the characteristics and descriptions of their own products in the evaluation content. In fact, this does not conform to the normal logic of consumers leaving reviews. Naturally, the content of the review will contain more of the consumers' own subjective emotions and descriptions of some usage scenarios.

If there is a problem with the evaluation environment, coupled with the recent crackdown on fake orders by Amazon, it is easy to cause your store to be closed, so it is better not to do such evaluation. Therefore, if you must do evaluation and fake orders in the near future, you must control the relevant safety conditions.
