Account issues have always been a top priority for Amazon sellers, and Amazon's platform rules are becoming increasingly stringent. Once sellers violate the rules or operate improperly, they will face the risk of being blocked or banned from selling.
The words "account deactivated" have become a nightmare for many sellers. In addition to common methods such as second review and association, Amazon is also taking a variety of ways to verify seller accounts, and video verification is one of them.
For sellers, purchasing investment links or accounts is already commonplace, but as long as the account is not registered with one's real information, there is a certain degree of risk. Recently, a large number of sellers who bought accounts have been scammed.
A large number of sellers received video verification emails
As early as the beginning of the month, an article was published: "Old accounts also need video verification! If no operation is performed within 7 days, the account will be blocked. Is it stricter than the second review? "
At that time, we learned that Amazon had started to review the identities of sellers again, and most of the accounts that received the email were purchased accounts. Unfortunately, a group of sellers were caught in the trap. Yesterday afternoon, another group of sellers received this email. The video verification was late but it arrived, catching the sellers off guard.
In the seller communication group, many sellers reported that they had received emails from Amazon requesting video verification and posted screenshots.

It is understood that the email was sent from: [email protected]
The email stated: To protect account security, Amazon requires sellers to verify their identity. Sellers need to schedule a real-time video call with Amazon staff and present their original ID and business license. Sellers who receive this email will have to schedule a video call within 7 days to verify their identity, otherwise their identity review will fail and they will face the risk of being banned from selling!

Subsequently, more and more sellers said they had received this email, and sellers with multiple accounts reported that multiple accounts had to undergo video verification. What was the same was that these accounts were all purchased accounts , and were not registered using the sellers’ real information.

At the same time, according to seller feedback, most of the accounts that received the emails were old stores that had been in operation for 19 years. The stores had no performance issues or violation records, and their sales were normal , but they suddenly received notifications for video verification.

The sellers’ communication group was in an uproar because of this video verification email. Sellers were discussing it, some sellers speculated that this was another routine of Amazon cutting leeks, some sellers were anxiously waiting for countermeasures, and some sellers directly asked the service provider whether they could provide corresponding services.

Based on the above, we can summarize several characteristics of this Amazon video verification operation:
1. Most of the accounts that received the email this time are old accounts and purchased accounts. 2. Most sellers received emails from the US and European sites. 3. Most of these accounts are legitimate stores with no performance issues and no violation records.

Although many sellers received the email, some still expressed doubts about it. Is this really a mass email from Amazon?
Video verification may be a pilot project for Amazon
Given the large number of phishing emails on Amazon, the seller is also very cautious about such emails. After receiving the notification, he contacted Amazon customer service as soon as possible to inquire about the authenticity of the matter and posted the picture below. ▲ Pictures taken from the sellers’ communication group As you can see, Amazon customer service said: We have not received any relevant notification asking sellers to conduct video verification, and even if certification is required, a performance notification will be sent to your background, so it is recommended that you do not click on any link to operate.
When the seller further asked whether this email was sent officially, the customer service gave a negative answer.
Is this really a misunderstanding, another phishing email sent by Amazon?
In response to this, an experienced seller joked: The customer service knows very little, so it’s better to ask a person on the street than to ask him.
At the same time, I consulted Amazon's official investment manager about this email. Based on the email suffix, the manager determined that this email was sent by the official and said that this should be a pilot action.
From the above information, we can know that Amazon’s video verification of sellers is a pilot operation aimed at verifying the authenticity of the seller’s identity. Video verification will also become a major assessment for Amazon sellers. If the seller fails the verification, he will face the risk of having his store closed, which shows the seriousness of the matter.
So, what should we do with those purchased accounts?
If verification fails, will it be directly reviewed again or banned from sale?
Many sellers said that they bought the account and could no longer contact the legal person. Video verification requires the provision of a business license and the legal person’s ID card. Even if the legal person himself participates in the video verification, he or she must hold the original ID card of the legal person.
Failure to provide this information will result in verification failure and the seller’s account will be in jeopardy.
Seller: I could have been very happy, but Amazon ruined me
Many sellers have complained that they can’t contact the legal representative, so they can only move their warehouses, change labels, and give up their accounts.

However, there are also sellers who do not want to give up their accounts and are actively seeking ways out, asking service providers for help. The service providers say that they can pass with just the account information, the fee is 3,600, and the probability of passing is 80%.
Even service providers cannot guarantee 100% success in video verification. So what risks will sellers face if they fail to pass the video verification?
At the beginning of February, a group of sellers received emails for video verification, but some sellers bought accounts. What happened to those accounts that did not pass the video verification?
According to relevant sources, accounts that had not passed the video verification were directly moved to the second review and then stopped selling. The seller attempted a second review but was directly rejected.
It seems that this video verification is not groundless and is becoming more and more strict. If the verification fails, the consequences will be very serious. Sellers who receive emails should prepare early and make appointments for video calls within the specified time. Sellers who purchase accounts can try to contact the legal person to avoid the account being banned.
For the video verification process and the materials that need to be prepared, sellers can refer to the previous article "Old accounts also need video verification! If no operation is performed within 7 days, the account will be blocked. Is it stricter than the second review?"
I wonder if sellers on other sites have received this email? If sellers have better solutions, please leave a message in the comment area to share~ |
