Development History

CyberSource was one of the pioneers in providing online payment and fraud management services to large and medium-sized merchants during the early days of e-commerce in 1994.

In November 2007, CyberSource acquired Authorize.Net, a U.S. small business payment service provider, for $565 million, thereby expanding its market coverage to cover everything from the smallest sole proprietorship to the largest global brands.

In 2010, Cyber ​​Source was acquired by Visa and operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of Visa.

In March 2015, Japanese communication application Line said it had signed an agreement with CyberSource, a global e-commerce payment company under Visa, to become a strategic partner in order to accelerate the business expansion of Line Pay, a mobile payment system launched in December last year.

In September 2017, CyberSource entered into a partnership with Xendit, a fast-growing payment services company in Indonesia. CyberSource's anti-fraud management solution, Decision Manager, is the world's largest anti-fraud monitoring device, enabling partners to identify fraud faster and more accurately with less human intervention. With Decision Manager, CyberSource's partners will be able to gain more order information and compare it with Visa and CyberSource's processing data of more than 60 billion transactions per year. The data comes from a variety of payment methods and merchants around the world, including online, call centers, mobile devices, and point-of-sale (POS) sales channels. Transaction data also includes data from 260 confirmations and related tests. The solution effectively expands the visibility of transaction types in depth and breadth.

In September 2013, CyberSource provided DHgate with the anti-fraud detection system Decision Manager to enhance DHgate's anti-fraud management capabilities in its online payment business.

In August 2015, CyberSource announced a partnership with Qunar.com, one of China's largest travel search engines and booking sites. The agreement will enable Qunar.com to provide secure and reliable payment services while expanding its global customer reach.

China Eastern Airlines deployed CyberSource Decision Manager anti-fraud management tools across its entire online platform for cross-border transactions in early 2016.
