Newegg in the US accepts Litecoin payments!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Newegg in the United States recently announced that customers can pay with Litecoin through the BitPay wallet application. Newegg has become the first merchant on BitPay to accept Litecoin (LTC) as a payment method.

Stephen Pair, CEO of BitPay, said that Newegg will provide more payment methods to support consumers' purchases to improve the overall shopping experience of customers, and integrating Litecoin payment options into its platform will help consumer growth.

It is learned that Litecoin was launched in 2011 by former Google engineer Charlie Lee. The Litecoin he created can provide faster transaction confirmation time, with an average of 2.5 minutes per transaction, which is 7.5 minutes faster than Bitcoin.

It is reported that as early as 2014, Newegg cooperated with BitPay to enable Bitcoin transactions on its platform. Subsequently, Newegg accepted Dogecoin as an official payment method in April 2021. Now, Newegg has become the first merchant to accept Litecoin (LTC) as a payment method, which greatly consolidates its position among customers who choose to pay with cryptocurrencies.

It is understood that when completing an order on Newegg, customers who want to pay with Litecoin only need to click "Edit" in the payment section of the checkout page and then select BitPay to complete the transaction.
