What is Fril? Fril Review
Fril, owned by Fablic, a well-known Japanese e-commerce company, is a flea market app that is popular among female users. Users can sell second-hand products on it. Now Fril has developed into the Japanese version of Etsy, and many local handicraft makers sell their homemade handicrafts on Fril. Founded in 2012 Founder Shota Horii Website https://fril.jp/

Company Introduction

Fablic was founded by Shota Horii . When he just graduated, Shota Horii worked at the Japanese supply platform Adingo . His job was related to advertising, and he needed to know the latest content in real time and how to use media platforms such as blogs, so he spent a lot of time studying women's blogs every day. Horii found that Japanese women tried to sell their unwanted clothes through social media and blogs such as Mixi or Twitter . In 2012 , Horii decided to resign and founded Fablic in April . In July of the same year , his company launched Fril , a flea market app targeting women, and became a P2P sales platform in Japan .

Basic Situation

Fril is a flea market app similar to Mercari , but the difference is that Fril 's users are younger, mostly high school and college students. Users can take photos with their phones and upload them, and then receive reminders from interested sellers. Fril was launched by Open Network Lab in 2012 and has now reached 1.5 million downloads, with a monthly conversion amount of $ 5 million.

Audience

Most of Fril's users are women aged 18 to 29. Fril's backgrounds are clearly distributed - students, housewives and office workers each account for 30% .

Development History

In July 2012 , Fablic 's company launched Fril , a flea market app targeting women, and became a P2P sales platform in Japan .

In 2014 , a small group of Fril users began uploading photos and selling products.

In September 2016 , Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten Inc. announced the acquisition of all shares of Fablic , the developer of C2C fashion trading platform App Fril , but the acquisition price has not been disclosed yet.
