It is learned that according to a survey by the National Retail Federation (NRF), American consumers are looking forward to Halloween in 2022. This year, 69% of consumers plan to celebrate Halloween, which is higher than 65% in 2021 and equivalent to 68% in 2019. The cat costume is tied with Batman as the fifth most popular costume. -The most popular costumes among pet owners include pumpkin (9%), hot dog (5%), bat (4%), bumblebee (3%) and witch (3%). -36% of consumers will look for Halloween costume inspiration online, while 25% plan to look in-store and 19% plan to get inspiration from friends and family. The leading source of Halloween costume inspiration remains online searches (36%), while a quarter say they look in retail stores and 19% get inspiration from friends and family. NRF surveyed 8,283 consumers about their Halloween shopping plans from Sept. 1 to 6. The survey results have a margin of error of plus or minus 1.1 percentage points.
