According to foreign media reports, on December 6, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (CPSC) announced an urgent recall of 496,100 home bed-raising aids sold on Amazon and Walmart. The reason for the recall is that during the use of the relevant products, there is a serious risk of pinching, and the user is likely to be trapped between the aid railing and the side of the mattress. The recalled products are reportedly produced by Drive DeVilbiss, an American medical device manufacturer, and the recall number is 22-025. The metal tube of the product is printed with "Drive", and the color is white or silver. The model numbers are 15064, 15062, RTL15073 and RTL15063-ADJ, of which 15064 and RTL15063-ADJ have black anti-skid pads. The following are product pictures: It is understood that Drive has received two reports of users being crushed to death, one for model 15064 and the other for model RTL15073, which occurred in February 2011 and February 2015 respectively, involving a 93-year-old woman and a 92-year-old man. The CPSC recommends that consumers stop using the wake-up aid immediately and contact Drive DeVilbiss for a full refund.
