Like Amazon! Walmart also provides welfare benefits for low-income people!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, Walmart recently announced that it has joined the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), providing these low-income, low-security people with electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card online ordering and WIC-eligible items.

WIC is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), which provides federal grants to states to provide nutrition and other resources to the population. Walmart and Amazon are the first retailers to participate in WIC.

It is reported that after joining WIC, Walmart launched the Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), providing food coupons to relevant people and allowing them to choose to pay with EBT cards when placing orders.

It is understood that people who pay with EBT cards do not need to pay for shipping or item fees at the pickup point, which can effectively reduce the physical contact between the delivery person and the recipient. Now, grocery retailers BJ's Wholesale Club and Giant Food have also begun to offer this payment option.

It is reported that Walmart currently provides online pickup and delivery services for people participating in the nutrition assistance program in nearly 3,000 physical stores in 39 states, and there is no need to meet the minimum spending threshold of US$35 per order.
