USPS to close some post offices in the Dakotas due to winter storm

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the USPS recently issued an announcement stating that due to the winter storm, which caused road closures and widespread power outages, it was forced to close several post offices in South Dakota and North Dakota.

Just a few days ago, the US media reported that a storm system and a cold front were leaving the Rocky Mountains of the United States, with heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain moving towards the Midwest, North and Plains of the United States. Currently, nine states from Montana to Iowa have issued winter storm warnings or ice and snow weather warnings. North Dakota and northern Minnesota may even see more than a foot of snow.

According to the announcement, USPS has closed the following post offices:

  • Meadow Post Office (Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am - 12:30pm, Saturday 9am - 11am)
  • Reva Post Office (Opening hours: Monday to Saturday 10:00 am - 12:00 pm)
  • Zeeland Post Office (Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am - 9:30 am)

USPS said it will continue to operate in Indakota and deliver mail and packages as much as possible. However, due to the impact of the storm, logistics tracking information may be delayed or even not updated for a long time. Sellers are requested to wait patiently. In addition, USPS will transport goods while ensuring safety, so some goods may be backlogged.

At the same time, USPS recommends that sellers contact buyers as soon as possible and explain the reasons if their goods are affected by the storm and delivery is delayed. However, sellers are advised not to be too anxious and worry about seller ratings. Typically, eBay and other online markets will delete unsatisfactory shipping indicators or negative feedback caused by extreme weather events.
