Breaking news! Amazon has launched an address verification campaign, and many sellers have received emails!

The peak season is approaching and things are going to get stormy.

Following the identity verification of a large number of seller accounts, Amazon has recently launched another wave of address verification.

A large number of sellers received postcard verification emails

It was learned that on the afternoon of May 24, a large number of sellers reported receiving emails from Amazon with postcard verification addresses .

Amazon stated in the email that it will send a postcard containing a verification code to the company address shown on the seller's profile page. The seller must enter the code on the platform before July 23, 2023, otherwise future payments will be retained in the seller's account until the address verification is passed.

It has been observed that, as of now, the deadline for sellers who have received this email to fill in the verification code is late July .

It is also worth noting that in addition to sellers who need direct postcard verification, Amazon also requires some sellers to conduct SMS verification and phone verification before that, but many sellers have not received the so-called verification SMS and phone messages.

In this regard, many sellers believe that this is mainly because Amazon sent too much information at one time, resulting in an overload of traffic and a system bug.

However, Amazon has not yet responded to the mass emails about postcard verification addresses. At present, it is still unclear whether this wave of address verification has a specific scope.

Many sellers are optimistic about this, believing that address verification has a higher pass rate than other audits . They only need to fill in the real address where they can receive the postcard verification, and in most cases they can pass it smoothly.

However, some sellers, especially those who have just gone through identity verification, are worried that if the address or other verification steps are wrong, it will trigger a second review. Some sellers even linked this verification to the Consumer Protection Act recently issued by the United States.

It is learned that, in fact, Amazon sent a group address verification email as early as May 2021. Whether it was then or recently, some sellers modified the address for verification but did not trigger the second review, so most sellers do not need to worry too much about this.

Address verification detailed process

In general, it is not difficult to pass the address verification, but sellers who receive the email also need to understand the verification process and ensure accuracy to avoid any future worries.

Here, we have compiled a detailed postcard address verification process for your reference:

1. Log in to the Seller Platform;
2. Go to the "Settings" menu and select "Account Information" to view the "Seller Account Information" page;
3. Select the company address page in "Corporate Information". If the address is incorrect, you need to update it. After the updated address information is correct, click "Confirm Address".

4. After filling in the form and saving it, the estimated arrival time of the courier will appear (Amazon email mentioned that it is usually 5-7 working days ). You need to pay real-time attention to the courier delivery status and be prepared to sign for it in advance.

5. After receiving the postcard, fill in the verification code in time. If the verification code is correct, the verification process is completed.

Note: If the company address is inaccurate or cannot receive postcards, you need to add a new address. Enter the new address filling page and accurately fill in the name, address, zip code, phone number and other information in Chinese. In the address column, fill in the name of the legal person and the business license address or the company office address. In the phone number column, fill in the registered mobile phone number, which should be consistent with the background information.

It is observed that whether it is the current address verification wave or the previous account verification storms, they often occur on the eve of the peak season. This is undoubtedly a warning bell for Amazon to increase its account cleaning efforts. Here we remind all sellers to take account security measures in advance to avoid being affected.
