Sellers beware! The FDA is cracking down on these products!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently warned consumers not to buy and use over-the-counter drugs sold under the name "Artri" or "Ortiga" online or elsewhere because they may contain hidden drug ingredients.

According to the FDA, these supplements are often taken to treat conditions such as arthritis, muscle pain, osteoporosis and bone cancer. However, the FDA warns that long-term use or taking these medications in high doses and then stopping them suddenly can lead to a severe withdrawal syndrome, including fatigue, nausea, low blood pressure, low blood sugar, fever, dizziness, muscle and joint pain, and shortness of breath.

FDA laboratory analysis revealed potentially dangerous ingredients not listed in certain Artri and Ortiga products, including:

  • Declofenac; Improper use can cause serious gastrointestinal problems such as ulceration and perforation.
  • Diclofenac sodium; increases the risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack and may cause gastrointestinal ulcers or fatal perforation.
  • Dexamethasone; increases risk of blood pressure, infection, and bone damage.
  • Methocarbamol; causes shock or dizziness.

The FDA is cracking down on the drugs and taking tougher regulatory measures.
