Amazon's own privileges? Even its own products are stuffed with small cards

It hasn’t been long since several of Amazon’s top sellers had their products removed from the shelves due to requesting review cards. Recently, a seller broke the news that Amazon’s own products have been blatantly offering cash back gift cards!

Moreover, this self-operated product openly wrote that it came with a $20 gift card in the product title. Isn’t this the same illegal operation that Amazon had previously strictly prohibited from its top sellers and even killed a wave of top sellers?

Previously, foreign media caught Zebao's brand inserting review cards in its products through phishing investigation. They directly wrote an article about Zebao's review request process and made it public, and also released pictures of the gift cards included in the products.

Zebao's cashback is as high as $35! However, the gift card for this headset sold by Amazon itself is also $20, which is also a very high cashback. In the same electronics category, with the same high gift card cashback, why is Amazon so arrogant that it even writes it in the title, and the sellers who do this will have their stores closed and products deleted? ! Is it really that the governors only need to set fires, and the people are not allowed to light lamps?

After studying this product carefully, I found that it is actually different from Zebao's review card routine. The self-operated headphones are actually bundled with an Amazon gift card product using the "virtual bundling" function, so consumers actually buy two products at once. However, because they only pay for the headphones, it is equivalent to a $20 discount.

But the clever part of this activity is that the $20 Amazon gift card that consumers save can only be used to shop on Amazon. It's like changing from your left hand to your right hand. When you use the $20 gift card again, you will definitely buy more than just $20 products. So this is a secondary marketing disguised as a discount activity, which is very clever.

So, it seems that this method is quite different from the review card of Zebao. So can we sellers use this model? Let me first talk about this virtual bundling function.

Virtual Bundles and Gift Card Magic

Virtual Bundles is a feature that Amazon only retired last year. It is not a traditional A+B product bundle sale, but a combination of product A and product B into a single product C, which has an independent ASIN and can be searched separately. After the order for product C is placed, Amazon will directly dispatch A and B from inventory and ship them together without pre-packaging.

In other words, using virtual bundled sellers, you can also bundle a rebate card product with the main product for sale, and achieve the self-operated operation above. (However, you should pay attention to the title writing. According to the previously updated title writing rules, it is obviously illegal to copy the self-operated title above and add marketing information, so you need to change it flexibly).

There is a policy threshold for Amazon gift cards. If you have the corresponding resources and conditions, you can buy a batch of gift cards, do some DIY tricks, and then do some virtual bundling, which can avoid Amazon's current small card review to a certain extent.

In addition to Amazon gift cards, sellers can also use point card products to do this operation. If the resources are in place, they can link to their own website to redeem points. This way, it is safe to operate without the platform. Here you can also combine the gameplay of social platforms, use sharing and social groups for conversion and maintenance, and the effect will be better.

In short, although the self-operation this time was a bit excessive, it is still very different from the review card request of Zebao. However, we can also develop this method ourselves.
