Emergency! Amazon closes a large number of stores in the early morning! The reasons behind this have a significant impact

At about 10 o'clock last night, a large number of sellers suddenly reported that they received an email, and then their stores were directly closed! There was even a seller who had more than a dozen accounts at the same time, and all of them were blocked in a short period of time!

All the stores in this wave of closures received the same email, stating that the sellers had repeatedly violated Amazon’s product service terms, including but not limited to

Therefore, the seller's account has been deactivated and the product has been removed . Below is the original email,

This email is not an ordinary warning email about fake orders. It is a normal mass phishing warning or a first-time fake order offense. Although the email you received also states that the review policy has been violated, it will clearly require the seller to provide the book order process, order number and information about the third-party fake order company that accepts the fake order.

Tonight's batch of emails are those received by those who have been caught placing fake orders again after receiving the initial warning email. The implication of these emails being sent to sellers is that there will not be any opportunity for appeal, and the situation is very serious.

This is also more severe than the small card account suspension a while ago. The small card account suspension notification email used "account suspend" or "account suspend after 72 hours", and the seller was required to cooperate in providing product information. There is also a certain chance to appeal, but the second suspension for fake orders basically means the account is sentenced to death.

But the strange thing is, according to some information we urgently collected tonight, among the sellers whose stores were closed in large numbers, many of them received emails about being caught for fake orders for the first time, and they were punished with the highest standards right from the start. Amazon did not play by the rules at all this time, and it was too overbearing to kill both the stores and the products with such a heavy blow!

Not only that, Amazon has previously frequently and high-profiled its crackdowns on top sellers, and has also very rarely disclosed detailed information about the crackdowns to the media. You must know that in the past Amazon has always “kept its dirty laundry to itself.” Even if it was discovered that a big seller was faking orders, it would have dealt with the matter internally, and would have said a bunch of repetitive excuses to get away with it to the outside world. Amazon’s recent behavior is really abnormal. What’s the reason for this?

Thinking about the fact that my brother-in-law was about to ascend to heaven, I suddenly realized.

My brother-in-law's ascension to heaven is scheduled for July 20, and two weeks before his departure, which is next Monday, July 5 , my brother-in-law will officially resign as CEO, and Andy Jassy (hereinafter referred to as Andy), the former head of AWS, will take over as CEO of Amazon.

Looking at this series of recent events together, isn’t this just Andy’s “three big things to do when a new official takes office” ?

Amazon's three crackdowns

The first ignition was in early May when several big sellers such as Paton were inexplicably closed, and a large number of products were removed from the shelves. At that time, there was news that the database of a large evaluation company was exposed by hackers, and Amazon followed the clues and punished all the top sellers involved at that time.

The second fire was the crackdown on review cards in mid-June. Amazon directly cracked down on the top 3C seller Zebao, and all the sub-brands involved were removed from the shelves. Moreover, Amazon disclosed the incident in detail to foreign media at the first time, including the handling method and the name of the brand involved. This was an unprecedented handling by Amazon. In the statement to foreign media, it was confirmed that the first handling of Paton was also due to manipulation of reviews.

The third fire is today's heavy-handed crackdown, which directly killed a large number of accounts suspected of fake orders without giving any chance to appeal. Obviously, Amazon has solid evidence of fake orders for these accounts, but it is unusual not to give them a chance and just want to kill the suspected accounts directly. The first two fires were basically burned on the top sellers, and the third one is burned on us small and medium-sized sellers. Moreover, many of those who were hit had multiple accounts. If one was blocked, more than a dozen of their accounts would be blocked at the same time. Yesterday's credit card association incident is likely a precursor to today's large-scale account blocking .

These three fires are all centered around the issue of fake reviews. It is obvious that the new CEO Andy is pledged to thoroughly clean up the fake reviews on the platform , and it is also a warning to us third-party sellers .

Now thinking back to the trigger that started this series of events, the so-called "hacker exposed the data of the fake order company", was it really exposed by a hacker ? I couldn't help but take a deep breath.

This new CEO is really ruthless

We have always emphasized to everyone the importance of white hat operations, as well as the dangers and limitations of gray operations such as fake orders and evaluations. Fortunately, with our persistence and guidance on this point, the vast majority of sellers in the student group are safe and sound, and have escaped any danger with Andy's three fires.

As mentioned above, these three fires are not over after burning. This is the attitude of the new CEO Andy towards the issue of fake reviews. This means that we will face an unprecedented harsh environment in the future. It goes without saying that manipulating reviews, even other gray operations, now we have to carefully consider the consequences. In the past, my brother-in-law might have turned a blind eye, but Andy might just hammer it to death. Recently, we sellers must keep a low profile, stay away from gray operations, and adapt to the style and tone of the new CEO, otherwise it is easy to make habitual mistakes and fall.
