Walmart launches Canoo LDV delivery service! Speed up the delivery of online orders!

According to foreign media reports, Walmart has recently started using Canoo LDV all-electric vehicles to deliver goods to Walmart+ members. Now, members can choose Canoo for delivery after purchase and receive the goods at home.

In July this year, Walmart signed a cooperation agreement with Canoo to purchase 4,500 all-electric delivery vehicles from Canoo, including Canoo's Lifestyle Delivery Vehicle (LDV).

The report said that LDV is built on Canoo's multi-purpose platform (MPP) architecture, which allows for more available space in the cabin and cargo area. LDV supports high-frequency stop-and-go, which can increase Walmart's delivery speed. In addition, LDV's interior is customized according to Walmart's specific usage, with a modular design and 120 cubic feet of cargo volume, which is very economical.

David Guggina, senior vice president of innovation and automation at Walmart U.S., said Canoo's unique, sustainable all-electric technology will expand Walmart's last-mile delivery fleet and will help Walmart provide customers with high-quality same-day delivery services while reducing the company's operating costs.

Tony Aquila, CEO of Canoo, said that the cooperation with Walmart will accelerate the deployment of LDV and help Walmart provide users with high-quality delivery services. LDV can support various packages to be put together, including refrigerated items, groceries and general goods. And it has the advantages of high efficiency and zero carbon emissions. For deliverymen, LDV is more ergonomic, more comfortable to drive, and can avoid repeated detours in some complex areas.

Walmart has been investing in electric delivery. In January, the retailer also ordered 5,000 all-electric delivery vehicles from BrightDrop. In July, in addition to ordering 4,500 all-electric delivery vehicles from Canoo, it also ordered 1,100 from Ford E-Transit. This move will help Walmart achieve its goal of zero emissions by 2040.
