This type of product has been severely cracked down on in the US market, and many sellers have suffered!

It is learned that according to foreign media reports, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warned people on Thursday, December 21 to immediately stop using the Doraemon Dovfun magnetic ball set sold through Amazon because the magnetic ball set may pose a threat of serious injury or death to children.

The set, which contains multiple colorful magnetic balls, comes in a clear plastic box or a portable tin storage box and costs about $25 on Amazon.

The CPSC said that after testing, it was found that the magnetic ball set contained strong magnets that violated the US federal toy safety standards. Specifically, when one strong magnet is swallowed, it may cause the child to be attracted to another metal object; when two or more strong magnets are swallowed, they will attract each other in the child's intestines and remain in the digestive system. Both of the above situations may cause intestinal perforation, twisting and/or blockage, infection, blood poisoning and death in young children.

In recent years, there have been frequent incidents of children swallowing magnets in the United States. The CPSC estimates that from 2017 to 2021, emergency departments of major hospitals in the United States received a total of 2,400 incidents of swallowing magnets. The CPSC is aware of seven deaths involving the swallowing of dangerous magnets, two of which occurred outside the United States.

The CPSC has issued a violation notice to the seller, who did not cooperate with the CPSC in recalling the product or provide remedies to consumers.

It is worth mentioning that US regulators have always been very strict in supervising this type of toys. Earlier this month, the CPSC also warned consumers to stop using Sunny House magnetic ball sets sold through Temu sellers because of the threat of serious injury or death to children.

It is understood that major e-commerce platforms including Amazon and Temu are continuously increasing their review of non-compliant products and problematic products. Cross-border sellers selling related products must seize the time to conduct self-inspections and remove related products as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary losses due to product safety issues in the future.
