It is learned that the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is recalling more than 82,000 Halo projection flashlights. The reason for the recall is that the four LR41 button batteries in the flashlights are easy for children to touch and swallow. So far, two reports of children touching the batteries have been received, including one report that a child swallowed the batteries and needed surgery to remove them. The recalled flashlights are available in red, dark blue and light blue and carry branding such as Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Avengers or ESPN. When the flashlight is turned on, it projects images of iconic characters from the above brands. The flashlight is 3 inches long and 0.5 inches in diameter, with a keychain on one end. The following are product pictures: The CPSC said the flashlight was part of a care package that also included a tote bag, silicone wristband, playing cards, ink pen, journal, wall stickers and postcards. The CPSC is reminding parents to keep the flashlights away from children immediately and contact Halo to obtain a prepaid shipping label to return the flashlights. Halo said it will compensate them with a $5 gift card. Editor ✎ Estella/ Statement: This article is copyrighted and may not be reproduced without permission. |
