The Mexican government seized 3 million illegally imported goods, including clothing, cosmetics, etc.

It is learned that the Mexican government recently launched a large-scale seizure operation in Ensenada, California, successfully seizing illegal goods worth about 320 million pesos. The operation aims to combat the circulation of illegal goods and protect Mexico's textile, footwear and toy industries.

According to a report from the Mexican Ministry of Economy, this operation is the largest illegal goods seizure operation in Mexico's history, involving more than 3 million illegal goods, mainly from China, Vietnam, Malaysia and Southeast Asian countries, covering a variety of commodities such as food, toys, clothing, cosmetics, personal care products, electronic products, textiles, backpacks and perfumes. Many of these commodities have not been legally inspected, pose serious safety hazards, and do not meet Mexican labeling, intellectual property and industrial property protection standards, violating multiple laws and regulations.

This operation is one of the measures taken by the Mexican government to continuously combat smuggling and illegal goods. Previously, Mexico has carried out similar cleanup operations in the capital Mexico City, Sonora and Coahuila. As smuggled goods flow into the northern border area, the government will continue to increase the intensity of inspections in relevant areas and will take legal actions against the companies involved in accordance with relevant legal procedures to ensure that market order is restored.

In addition, the operation also led to Mexico revoking the operating licenses of seven customs agencies suspected of violating the law and publicly investigating 40 other government customs agencies.
