Attention! Claims policy adjustment, Amazon will directly refund? !

Recently, Amazon's policies have changed a lot. Last week, the two major events of US FBA stopping receiving goods on Christmas and Japan FBA setting an inventory storage limit caused panic among many sellers, and the subsequent updated claims policy made sellers even more distressed.

If no response is received within 48 hours, a refund will be issued

Many sellers may not know that Amazon previously issued an announcement on the seller response policy to protect mall transactions.

The details are as follows:

We are making two changes to our A-to-z Guarantee Seller Response Policy to provide a positive and timely post-order experience for customers. You are responsible for responding to customer messages and return requests within 48 hours. If a buyer files a claim and you do not respond to the buyer, the claim will be approved and your account will be debited. We will no longer require you to "Reply to Amazon" when a buyer files a claim. Our team will review the information you and the buyer provided before making a decision.

To help you avoid any potential or unnecessary A-to-z Guarantee claims, we will continue to ensure that buyers contact you or submit a return request within 48 hours before becoming eligible for A-to-z Guarantee resolution.

If you dispute a claim, we still allow you 30 calendar days to file an appeal and provide new information so that we can investigate. You can find all buyer return requests on the Manage Returns page, and all buyer contact information can be found in the Buyer-Seller Messaging Service.

This means that it is the seller’s responsibility to respond to buyer messages and return requests within 48 hours! If a buyer files a claim and the seller does not respond within 48 hours, then Amazon will automatically approve the claim and deduct the money from the seller’s account!

In this regard, many sellers have reported that they have encountered similar incidents as follows:

A buyer bought a product in the store, and just a few days after the goods were shipped, the customer applied for a refund on the grounds of "delivery timeout"!

Moreover, the seller did not agree to a refund in the background, but Amazon directly refunded the money to the buyer, causing the seller to lose both money!

It is really infuriating to think about it this way. If a buyer deliberately takes advantage of this policy and maliciously refunds the product, wouldn’t the seller lose a lot of money? Fortunately, Amazon cannot completely ignore the seller. If the seller disputes the claim, he can file a complaint and provide evidence for Amazon to investigate within 30 days!

Pepe would like to remind all sellers to pay attention to the refund application in the background and reply within 48 hours! From Amazon's recent actions, we can see that this year and even next year, the entire Amazon platform will be further tightened, and the crackdown on operations that violate the rules will become more and more severe, and the situation of sellers will become more and more difficult. Therefore, you must pay attention to policy updates and adjust countermeasures in time, otherwise, various problems will arise if you are not careful!

German workers to strike

Previously, on December 5, the largest indefinite strike in French history took place, causing a great deal of fanfare. Foreign workers have been striking at every turn for a long time. I don’t know if it was influenced by the French strike, but Germany will also have a general strike in the near future.

According to the latest news from foreign media, Amazon workers at two logistics centers in Germany went on strike again today, demanding that Amazon increase wages and improve working conditions.

The strike will start on Monday, December 16, but at the Leipzig logistics center, workers' protests will continue until Christmas.

Amazon's attitude towards this incident is to refuse to negotiate.

This means that on Christmas Eve, German workers began to strike, and if the situation is serious, it is likely to continue until Christmas. For Amazon sellers, the workers' strike may affect the delivery of packages. Sellers should remember to pay attention to the product delivery during that period and communicate with buyers in a timely manner to prevent unnecessary returns or complaints!
